Was it Missouri? Or was it actual improved coaching?

Obviously we scored alot of points yesterday and the offense was working but the first half looked like the same ole same old. Kerryon up the middle 50 times, a jet sweep or two, and some long throws. But we did the same again Clemson but bc they were a better opponent, it didn't work nearly as well. The blocking wasn't there that we had tonight. And hastings, Davis and NCM didn't have nearly the separation against Clemson either.

But then came the second half and so did Kam Martin and curl routes and short throws and Eli Stove. They actually opened the Offense up in the second half. After we had a 30+ point lead which was so odd to me and I don't get it.

So point is I'm not ready to say "it's the fourth game, we figured it out" we didn't do anything new. To me this game just feels like Arkansas last year. It wasn't necessarily we did anything right, they just did a lot wrong on defense.

Elaborate on the coaching changes. Was it the second half or did you see more?

I was Missouri. And kerryon being back. W

We played well though. Let’s see what happens against a team that hasn’t quit.

I forgot to mention the red zone playcalling as well. 5 of our tds came from the wildcat which has been proven to not work against real football teams

I'm afraid so too. The parts are there though. These players can win with this playbook. We just half to tap into the full 100% from the get go. If they would throw the plays they called in the second half with what they did in the first half plus some improvement on the oline this is a high caliber offense to combine with the best au defense since tuberville.

We played more inspired and the kids were having a blast. I'm worried about our RB depth now with KJ and Bubba both banged up. Martin is fun to watch but he won't be able to take an SEC pounding at his size.

Gus has zero passing plays inside the red zone. If he can't pound it in, he kicks the FG

Maybe fire had a little to do with Clemson. But what happens if they rack up a few three and outs against msu, will they start to get tired of malzahns shite again? Bc I think that had alot to do with the lack of fire later in the game against Clemson. And as for Kam McCalebb was very effective in an increased role at a smaller size so why wouldn't he be able to?

Fraid so. I'm sure chip does though. Especially with how he likes his tight ends.

That was one of the worst tackling teams I've ever seen.

Yep. Kerryon probably broke 25 combined tackles on his 5 tds alone. Coverage sucked testes too.

Yes indeed. If Gus has his head stuck in his arse against good teams and refuses / can't see to make proper adjustments, I worry about the defense folding in the 4Q.

That's what scares me. He didn't do anything different until we had a 30+ point lead. Wtf.

Not worried about the defense, but I hope our run blocking improves or we'll have a lot of problems

You just don't want to see the defense start to question the HC or OC on their competence keeping the D on the field too long. That's all. Football is such a mental and psychological game first and foremost. This is Saban's strong suit, getting in their heads while they trust EVERYTHING he says and does. Plain and simple.

Agreed. And it will be his downfall ultimately if he doesn't change. It's what killed Chizik.
