Seriously though, Jenkins is like Marshall in the fact that he's as cool as ice and doesn't get flustered.

I know that QB ratings aren't inclusive of everything that a QB does so no need to get into a long discussion about that. However, they've been used for a very long time for comparisons.

In the JSU vs AUB game

Eli:

Comp% 60.4%
6.4 yds/att
1 TD 1 INT
117.6 NCAA QBR

JJ:

Comp% 65.6%
7.3 yds/att
2TD 2INT
135.7 NCAA QBR
----------------------

There's a lot to digest there. Both QBs benfited from dropped INTs. JJ was playing around a more talented overall team. Eli probably had better receivers.

We talk about how amazing Eli played in that game but I think that we've slightly distorted his performance in that game

Webb not in Auburn plans?

Things could always change, but we are told graduate transfer quarterback Davis Webb, a former starter at Texas Tech, does not have an Auburn offer and one is not expected. – Phillip Marshall

I blame to mods for this because they wacked the fourth Davis Webb thread.

we will possibly have 6 QB's on the roster come fall. One is hurt, one will be a freshman, possibly two transfers, and two with multiple years in the system.

Add in the fact we will have two new tackles and a center that was a back up till they realized they needed Golson out left.

We are so fricked....

Agree.

Nobody expected Marshall to be any good. He was just going to get us by until JJ.................................

I did.

Then again, I also thought Jeremy Johnson was one we would regret letting get away when he was almost lured away by Ole Miss...

I really wish we could've seen Tyrik Rollison take over in 2011 and beyond. He could've redshirted in 2009, been Cam Newton's backup in 2010 and started as a redshirt sophomore with 3 years to play.

First of all, Those two statements seem to contradict. You know Jones was making the point that Jenkins hasn't performed that great right? Why are you bringing up people's expectations for Marshall? Marshall had very good stats in JUCO and turned out great in college. I don't see how that relates to Jenkins.

Second of all, plenty of people thought Marshall had a chance to be good. I was a little worried about his INTs in JUCO but I was excited about bringing him in.

Jenkins' numbers are damn good at a level that is certainly equivalent to JUCO.

Prior to that game, he was averaging 16-25 for 195 yards a game, had 21 passing TDs and 6 INTs in 354 attempts, plus averaged 6 yards a carry and had scored 14 rushing TDs.

But yeah, that team that's gone 70-5 since 2010 and won 5 consecutive NCs really made him look bad.

I'm still of the opinion that AU only accept him if he legally changes his first name to Leeroy.

Did you watch the game?... it was fricking awful, stats dont do it justice.

Bottom line... When the lights came on and there were real expectations against a real team, he shite the bed.

Do not want.

So the first three playoff games his team won while averaging 56 points per game didn't count?

Don't get me wrong, I think signing him would be a mistake, for a lot of reasons - but one shitty game against a program on the most successful 5-year run in Division 1 history doesn't necessarily mean he sucks out loud.

He had unimpressive stats against us. He fell flat against NDSU.

I looked at their schedule and I don't see any other teams they played where I'd be impressed by him.

So I have two games to judge him on and he hasn't impressed me yet. Add in legal trouble and I'll pass
