Then why the hell do you keep trying?

Would like him to get someone in a prostyle offense to come and bring some new passing concepts.

Not me. I guess Im just being hardheaded. Why not just go back to what he seemed to be very good and successful at. Not something so complex that he will screw it up with his bipolar play calling.

Just keep it simple for him and get the right guys in there.

Deep down, I think Auburn fans want the Tub/Dye teams of past. It's familiar and it worked (for the most part)

We want a bruising defense with maulers on the d-line and a field general at MLB. I think on offense we want to run the ball and run some more with a few play action and down field throws to mix it up. We don't want Tub 3-2 vs Mississippi State offense but we could live with few points if the defense is bringing it every play

Gustav's apparent sudden inability to alter his offensive strategy based on the skillset of his QB is the most baffling part. He's been doing it his entire coaching career - what the hell happened?

We've discussed JJ ad nauseam. He's essentially a lost cause.

However, with White, I believe Gus was heading in the right direction with him. If White doesn't get hurt, we beat UGA... no doubt in my mind.

It is silly to talk about 2009. The HUNH had a greater advantage in 2009 than it does in 2015. Teams have adjusted. That 2009 team was terrible against all opponents with a pulse and was the reason we lost all 5 games that season. We never scored more than 24 points in any of those games.

Here is Chris Todd's Fantastic 2009 season everyone is so hyped up on. Nothing against Todd, he did great with his ability. But if this is the standard, . . .

Ball State - 287
West Virginia - 284
Furman - 256
Lousiana Tech - 255
UGA - 238
Tennessee - 218
Ole Miss - 212
Miss St - 186
Alabama - 181
Arkansas - 133
Kentucky - 80
LSU - 41

IF that is the argument for Gus's passing game being great, we are truly fricked

When Gus gets a Qb that fits his system, he will succeed. Right now he doenst have one on the roster. And LOL at anyone who thinks that Franklin kid from JUCO is going to start next year. He is a back up at his school and is little. Zero chance that kid can make it through an SEC schedule. What we need is to get that one JUCO recruit that looks like Dak...cant remember his name off hand, but will dig through the recruiting thread to find it...

Time has a way of warping people's memories... general in the positive.

I have just never understand the "Chris Todd did it" argument.

The shitty qb play in 2008 (and offense in general) made 2009 feel better than it actually was.

Todds are was dead for a while... he had zero velocity and it really killed the offense at times.

There's also been a lot of waxing poetic about the Tuberville era. I think the sudden rash of nostalgia would be considered coping mechanisms. We're clinging to (perceived) pleasant memories rather than facing a bleak present

me either. Chris Todd sucked. Sure he broke records at Auburn, but seriously, how hard would it really be to break passing records at RBU?

It is what it is.

I don't think changes coaches every 4 years is the answer. Gus is early in his career as a head coach. He is learning. The competition is nuts.
