Up Vote for Yes, Down Vote for No

My answer is no. After 2014 and 2015, I don't have much faith in Gus being able to turn things around.

That being said, I sincerely hope he proves me wrong. We've had 4 different DC's since 2011. That's a big reason why our defense is sub-par. In that time we've also had 3 different OC's and 2 HC. Our program will never achieve consistent success if we're constantly making changes.

I'm tired of Auburn being a flash in the pan. I want Auburn to be a dominant national power and constant coaching changes aren't the way to achieve this

If he swallows his pride and adds people to help add wrinkles to the O?

Yes.

If he rearranges deck chairs on the Titanic and thinks he is just a genius with great weeks of practice?

No.

If we had a running QB coming in I'd say he deserves more time, but we don't. Not for to more years and I have zero confidence he will ever be able to get it done with a pocket passing QB.

If Muschamp stays and SW/JFIII can be competent next year I think we'll have a decent year. Not ready to jump ship yet.

I do think that the coaches have handled pretty poorly the crap that has been dealt, but the fact of the matter is with the amount of things that have just inherently gone wrong (JJ, Duke, Lawson, White getting hurt, etc.), I'm not sure how much this season would've amounted to anyway. Hard to think of a plausible scenario that rewrites those LSU and MSU games.

Some of the dumbest crap that is spewed on this board. Our receivers catch half the passes that were put right in their hands in Fayetteville and we blow the Razorbacks out of the stadium.

I think that he can. I didn't have that feeling at all about Chizik in 2012. Again, it's a matter if he will do what it takes to survive. It may mean making some changes and swallowing his pride. He did what it took to get Muschamp on defense. I just hope he's willing to do what it takes on offense, even if it means replacing himself and his proxy as playcallers.

Gus can get the job done and he'll stay. Even if we believe Gus can't take us there he will have two more years. No coach worth while is going to want to put his career on the line at Auburn if we axe our head coach every 3-4 years.

We bought into the hype of a 8-5 team (with major losses) being elite. Our coaching staff helped that hype train out a good bit but I honestly don't think we are in terrible shape going forward.

Defense looks stable finally. With depth we have a great shot at sustaining a good defense throughout next season with normal injury losses. However, I'm not sure where our offense goes next year. I'm not seeing the playmakers on our roster to make a huge difference there in '16.

Yes. As bad as the results have been. I don't think we are far away. Definitely can't get rid of him till after 17.

It's actually pretty impressive we should have beaten Arkansas, ole miss, and uga with no qb or defense really.

This is the time frame I'm looking at also. Hopefully we can hold onto Muschamp during that period, even if it means a raise.

I think he CAN... doesn't necessarily mean he will.

He's earned some time to figure this out...

We've been every game but LSU... that's with a dumpster fire at QB and a new scheme on defense.

The question is do we improve?... because the teams we play won't be getting weaker.

Is Lashlee really calling the offense? If so Gus needs to take complete control of the play calling.

He won't hang Lashlee out to dry. Which is a selling point if we truly are looking at bringing in a new OC

Also, should have beat Mississippi State IMO.

As has been stated, outside of the LSU game, we've had a chance to win every game we've lost this year. That gives some hope for the future. Especially if 2012 is the litmus and we got stomped in every game

I'm dreading the Bama game though. If Gus can at least keep that close through the 4th quarter I'll give him all the praise he is due

JJ is a running QB. Gus must have a true dual threat for his read option-misdirection offense to work, and those types of QBs are hard to find.

I think Gus is a relatively good dude, recruiter and program manager. I think he's a great offensive mind when he takes his head out of his arse.

If he learns from this, realizes a lot of our woes this year fall directly on him (not just because he's the top guy), and takes the appropriate action in response (self evaluation, seeking outside input, staff changes, etc.), then yes.

But, given his stubbornness this year, I honestly don't know if it is likely that that stuff will happen.
