I actually feel good about the Oline this year. I know we have some new tackles but these guys should be able to do the job

I am really interested to see how Gustav uses Chandler Cox this season. Think that with Pettway getting more carries at RB, Cox will have an opportunity to really make some big plays. Kid is big and has decent speed, would love some wheel routes.

I think any combo of those two with KJ on the field at the same time is dynamic and opens up a TON of options. Especially once JF3 is named starter, the defense could never know who is going to run the ball

After watching the netflix series, I really don't think JFIII will be the starter. I would look for SW to start and the offense resemble the 2009 system that Gus ran with Chris Todd.

I haven't watched any of the series, but do you really think you can deduce who Auburn's starter will be based on that?

He doesn't have a strong enough arm to push the long ball, or fast enough legs to run the zone read. Therefore, we would be relegated to dink and dunk passing all the way down the field, which isn't the answer.

I can already tell this season is going to be weird

Shows a pretty good bit of JFIII in action, his accuracy is spotty at best and he was not the starting QB for a JUCO team.**

It's just my opinion, which is worth absolutely nothing, but I will be surprised if he gets the starting nod. Not pissed or anything. He has a lot of upside....blazing speed, appears to have no fear running the ball, good vision downfield. On the downside, accuracy bad, mechanics bad and he carries a football like a snow cone.

**ETA** The starter at EMCC was only offered a scholarship by Mississippi College IIRC.

Hell, don't we say that before every Auburn season?

Yea I mean, I get all that. But i'm not entirely convinced our starter needs a super accurate arm if he has blazing speed. If the read option is working like we have seen it, the receivers he will be throwing to most of the time won't be blanketed. 3rd and long becomes a worry, but if he has wondrous escapability that becomes less worrisome.

Valid points. Really what worries me the most with him is the way he carries the ball, which can be fixed by the coaches.

to a certain degree. I haven't seen what you're talking about, but I know in the past that if players have made a habit of carrying it a certain way, that habit is hard to break.

this definitely raises eyebrows tho. Did he come in behind someone who was a previous year starter?

If you watch Last Chance U on Netflix the coaches say EMCC's offense is a passing offense -- quick 5 and 10 yard throws. JFIII is clearly better suited in a running offense.

yea, it was ugly seeing him carry it like a cell phone. Ouch

He has a good upside but I just dont see him being the starter. If he is named the starter, I just dont see it lasting. He has a long way to go. He looked much better in our spring game than he did in the show so our coaches have done some work. Hopefully, they can get him dialed in

I still see Jeremy starting. He has a huge upside, played much better late in the year last year and really knows the offense. I am to sure it can happen but if the light can come on for him, he can end the QB issues for us for a year.

Sean White is going to be the starter. Might as well embrace it

Yea, it would be like Pat White transferring to Texas Tech under Leach and not starting and assuming he wasn't a good QB. I mean sure you can't just ignore it, but it is a pretty incomplete story.
