The only way I can possibly imagine that happened is if the colonel had just recently married himself some young, clueless bimbo.

NO WAY a career Army wife to a full-bird makes that kind of mistake.

I don't disagree, but quite a few people incorrectly park in the general officers spot at the commissary/BX. This colonel's wife was one of them, whatever her reasons were for doing it

Damn dude, hate the medical issues. Makes me want to get back on the treadmill. LOL

Since this is an IM thread I might as well share a little about myself.

I always was a gym rat, BUT I also burned the candle at both ends as a young man. My brother, and a few friends of ours used to rent a house off Pharr Rd. in Buckhead so we didn't have to drive home when we were at the Dixie Tavern, or other such establishments. There was alcohol of course, but other substances were the main attraction back then in Buckhead. I am actually fortunate to still be among the living. I am also lucky that I am not behind bars somewhere. I never hurt anybody, but only by the grace of God! I have to own the reasons why I have issues with my health.

I am grateful, so I try to speak to groups of kids anywhere I can just to let them know what is waiting on the other side of a life partying.

My goal now is to be healthy enough to make it to the games this fall. We always park at the Old Track, and there are golf carts driven by Tigerettes that shuttle up to the stadium.

Since we are sharing: I was an out of state student and my parents couldn't have afforded to send me to Auburn. Fortunately I received a full ride due to academics and didn't pay anything for tuition during my time there.

I had zero ties to the school. Alabama was recruiting me heavily. We were driving by on 85 headed to Tuscaloosa when we saw the sign for Auburn and decided to ride through campus for a few minutes since we were close. As soon as I saw the school I knew that is where I was going. We never visited Alabama and I applied to Auburn the next week.

Similar story for me except no full ride. About to be done with my loans in a couple of months.

Dang. I wish my daughter would get a full ride. Probably not going to happen and she'll end up at UGA. She visited last week. She's really having a hard time because I raised her full of bama and GA hate, like a good father should.

Jeez. Sorry bro.

Took me about 8 years since graduating. Will be a great feeling when its done. Then the truck should be paid off in less than 2. I started overpaying the student loans so I paid as little interest as possible.

Medical School, no scholarships back then (very little). We lived on my salary while she went to school for 6 years.

Dont get me wrong, it was worth it by a mile and we had some very low interest loans. Just did not get in a big hurry to pay them back. I actually paid my house off before we paid the loan off.

We probably had the same scholarship. I made my entire decision on two very key/important points

- Auburn offered slightly more money for something like study abroad/research and being 18 yrs ~$1000 was a deal breaker despite being ~1% of the scholarship value

-Being from outside the SE, I thought it would be embarrassing to tell people I was going to school at U of Alabama. People outside the SE recognize Auburn but don't associate it with Alabama/trailers

I lived at Lakewood Commons first year, and had my stereo and speakers stolen the first night I was there!! Lol. My Trans Am (I never had a mullet!) didn't have an alarm then, but I installed one that weekend!

No shocker, but it was a group of "young gentlemen" from Opelika!! ??

They hit about a dozen cars that night.

My beagle had a stroke this morning. She lost sensation in both her right legs. Lost vision in her right eye, and her senses in her right nostril. :-(

I told her she was going too far in her efforts to make me feel better about my heart condition!
