The hype is from the first two, not Reese.
Exactly. Nothing against Reese but he isn't in the same stratosphere as those other 2.
On a side note I'm interested to see how Avery manages those 2 though. I don't care what recruiting services list them as they are both 2's and both like to put up shots. We had some chemistry issues of our own last year trying to blend that many highly ranked players together and I can see them having the same problem.

I'm still not convinced Sexton doesn't bolt to Europe.

Pretty unusual for a kid to skip college to go overseas for a year
Only one I can think of as US -> INTL-> NBA that has found success is Brandon Jennings who passed on Zona

Who was the kid that did it last year? Isn't he supposed to be a lottery pick this year? It very well may not happen, but there is still a good bit of chatter, especially from the Alabama camp, that it is still a decent threat of happening.

Terrance Ferguson went to Australia I think.

Terrence Ferguson? He probably fell a little bit, mostly due to not being super impressive in Australia. Mocked very late lotto into the 2nd RD depending on source

Only because Terrence Ferguson did it to them already and they scur'd.
Most NBA scouts seem to say that would hurt draft stock and is a bad idea.

I don't disagree that it probably is a bad idea. Just listening to the rumblings of some of my better connected bama fans. They have some legit concern over it.

The Terrance Ferguson situation probably makes them more wary/concerned than they need to be

Auburn’s Bruce Pearl will promote Steven Pearl to assistant coach, source told ESPN.
Better hope Steven is more than a clipboard holder, because if we don't win next year the seat will be very hot

No, but he can hold a clipboard

Can he hold a defensive clipboard?
Or can he hold a clipboard defensively?
Or can he hold a clipboard defensively?

I know this is a running joke but for what we are paying Pearl he better be coaching offense and defense. This isn't football where each side of the ball has a coordinator.
ETA: I have no opinion either way about Steven Pearl but on the surface this looks an awful lot like nepotism. If he is a likeable guy and can sell Auburn to recruits then he will be just fine.

Alabama is getting a ton of hype from adding Collin Sexton, John Petty, and Alex Reese. I wish we could've gotten Reese.
At the time, I thought I'd heard/read that we would've taken Reese, but weren't really recruiting him anymore because we'd gotten Chuma Okeke (who is MUCH better).

The hype is from Sexton/Petty, Reese is more "oh they got some other solid guys too". Bama returns arguably their best 4/5 starters, they add two 5* and people are buying in on Avery being a great coach.

I wish Auburn would fight for the Lawson brothers, Dedric/KJ transferring from Memphis
Posted on 4/7/17 at 3:08 pm to GenesChin
Yeah I was wondering about the Lawsons.
Dedric looks good at 19 PPG and 10 RPG.
KJ at 12 PPG, 8 RPG and 3 APG looks solid too.
With EJ coming in and if Heron and Wiley stay we would have the most talented roster in the country in my opinion.

Too bad we have the least talented coach.
