Should've just paid him to leave. Between lawyer fees and what we eventually pay him it will almost add up to the 1.25. Also, this will be bad PR for AU and it sucks because guy is a scumbag.

Golloway signed his contract on the 14th day of June 2013. That's over two years into the contract, ergo fewer than three years left.

By the way, dude's base salary was only $250K per year. Three (3) coaching seasons left on his contract X $250K = $750K.

Automatic 1-year extension if Auburn has winning season in 2014, (went 36-26 and got an extension) 15 and 16

So the three you calculated, plus the one year extension = 4 years.

Buyout is $1,250,000 with four or more years(see you post) remaining on contract. Goes down $250,000 each year contract length goes down a year

It would seem that if this guy is as much a low-life scumbag as has been said (and I tend toward believing it), he would have much more to lose by a public pissing match than Auburn.

The lawyer is posturing. NO WAY IN HELL he wants to get in a war of who did what with Auburn if even 1/4 of whats been rumored is true.

A one year extension would still only make it $1 million if we end up paying it *all* (which we won't).

Plus, as I stated before, the "buyout" is NOT in addition to the regular contract. Its a buyout OF the base salary of the contractually committed base salary, i.e. 4 x $250,000 = $1 mil.

The fact that you and others have your panties all wadded up in the crack of your arse over $250,000 *contract dollars* is all I need to know about y'all.

Please stop pretending now that the "buyout" was a special stupid clause that JJ put in the contract. It wasn't. Its standard contractual language. Please take some Children's Nyquil and try to calm down.

Over at $500,000.

Officially? For breaking NCAA rules regarding the 4 to 1 practice rule. 4 or more players and 1 coach is considered to be an official practice. At the time it happened official practices were not allowed. Jacobs brought xCSG into his office and confronted him about it. He lied, Jacobs showed he had proof. Poof xCSG gone.

The real reason. A combination of xCSG being a ginormous prick and not getting along with anyone. Publicly berating players. Making them stay hours after a game solely to yell and bitch at them. Doing dumb shite like locking the cages so visiting teams couldn't use them. Bringing in 18 NEW players this year knowing he would have to cut 13 or so guys (NCAA limit is 35 on a baseball team to split 13.1 scholarships, but that is another conversation altogether). Refusing to pay staff members for running the baseball camps this summer because he thought they sucked after the fact instead of trying to correct something when he didn't like it at the time. Being an asshat. Running guys out of the program that would have been okay just being benched for someone more talented. These same players whose parents and grandparents pump MILLIONs of dollars into the AD annually. And because xCSG is just a miserable human being and his daughter does porn for a living.

But I am biased. I have had a dozen or so interactions with him and not a one was even close to being positive.

Yes, I too was surprised how much having a hottie college-aged daughter alters one's posting habits....
