Two in our history.

Terry Beasley in 1970 and Ronnie Daniels in 1999.

Darvin Adams got super close twice. 997 in 2009 and 963 in 2010.

Sammie Coates was the closest most recently at 902 in 2013

I knew RD was the most recent (though not actually recent) but didn’t realize he was only the second we’ve ever had. That’s wild, and embarrassing

Well, Auburn is RBU, not WRU. Plus, it’s not like we’ve had a lot of stud QBs to get them the ball. Coates could’ve easily had 1500+ yards in 2013. Marshall overthrew him a lot.

Yes, they are. Marshall was a dynamic runner that was inaccurate. I’d say Ashford has a better deep ball of the 2 in this point of their careers (first year starting).

He had a great arm for a DB!

But I do see something similar in Ashford. I'm on #teamrobbie!

Nick Marshall was 20.7% higher in completions his first year and his average completed throw was over 50% further.

So while he may have missed some long balls, he also hit a lot of them....and at a much higher rate.

Jax,You keep that up and I might have to build a Sonic down here..how big ole boy are ya

In all seriousness, that running success of Ashford last year was like the hurry up, it aint gonna be there for him this fall, they will put eight in the box and eat him alive.

Who knows maybe our QB whispers, all three of them on staff, can improve his accuracy, Id like nothing better.

It actually makes a lot of sense when you consider we have had exactly 2 different 3,000 yard passers ever as well.

Dameyune Craig had 3,277 yards in 1997. Our only other 3000 yard passer in our entire history was Jarrett Stidham. He passed for 3158 in 2017.

The only stat worse than those two are the fact we have exactly 1 back to back 10 win seasons in our history.

Im hoping Freeze can add to both of those.

You think they weren’t stacking the box last season?

Jax, if Nick was throwing a lot of screens and this....

his average completed throw was over 50% further than Ashford.....

Then we must have been throwing a lot of laterals for no gain last year

Lets just let it play out but he has a looong way to go to be compared to Nick Marshall. We agree to disagree.

That tends to happen when you have dynamic players like Coates, Bray, etc. at WR. They could take a short pass to the house.

I said he had a better deep ball than Marshall at this point in their careers. Go watch how many deep passes Marshall missed. We get it. You hate Ashford.

no, you dont get it. You said Ashford was a better passer than NM which is just absurd. Ashford has a weaker arm, throws rainbows, highly inaccurate on even screen passes that you tout as being NM reason for a higher completion percentage...its like you suspend logic and reason and fanboy for Ashford. He is the statistically the worst Qb starter we have had. sub 50 percent completion??? LAST in qb rating??

Better than Nick Marshall

Ok, I see you can’t read or comprehend what you read. I’m sorry little fella. I’ll quit responding to you, because you don’t understand what you’re reading.

You said AShford has a better deep ball than NM. Which is fanboy bullshite. Ashford doesnt do a single thing better than NM did. Nothing. Carry on

Ashford certainly shows his emotions better (or worse). NM has ice-water in his veins and was poker-faced in every situation. You can tell exactly what Ashford is feeling or thinking.

And I don't think Freeze likes that type of petulant attitude out of a starting Qb either.
