Agreed, I don't have a problem with him leaving other than I had hoped he could do something for us. Much better than slot receiver.

looks like we have some good ones in Stidham and Miller

I really don't see Stidham going pro next year

It's a very strong possibility if he has a good season.

More importantly, Stidham will only have 18 career starts after next year which is extremely limited starting experience for RD1 QB. There is a reason articles like this were written about Trubisky and his inexperience

He was just selected 2nd overall, with Mahomes going shortly thereafter.. It is just as much about potential as experience.

And it is way too early to be projecting next year's QB draft class. Stidham could very well be the best in the bunch for all we know.

it's probably the best thing for him at this point. still, at my age, it's a tough thing to waste a good strong woody. you whipper snappers best not take it for granted.

Hard to believe this. Good luck Woody.

I think Stidham plays for 2 years not 3. He could be gone in one if we go 'ship this year.

He'd be great at Jacksonville state.

I think White stays in school gets a degree and works towards being a coach.

I don't see what everybody else is seeing with MW at QB.

JS is the best QB we have by a mile.

It's a toss up after that and who knows how good MW actually is. Based on his spring game performance, he has a long way to come before he can play in the SEC.

My guess is if JS has a great year, we will woo a premier QB recruit and he will pass everybody on the depth chart.

Agree totally. I can't imagine how anyone has seen anything that convinces them MW will be a starter at Auburn. Potential...Yes. It's a long way to actually playing.

I think we all understand that Stidham will be there starter. The conversation is whether or not White or Willis is in line next.

A lot of us believe it will be Willis

Not next year. No way in hell its Willis. Let's revisit this statement if Stidham gets hurt.

After next year maybe.

Smart move is to stay at Auburn this season. Be our backup. Stidham has had injuries too so there's a chance White can still have another chance at AU.

If Stidham blows it up this year and gets a big draft grade and leaves then stay and battle it out one last time for your senior year. If it looks like Stidham returns, the grad transfer to somewhere like Iowa and start immediately

With a possible QB coach the past is just that.

IMO Gus's fallible insistence on being able to develop a quarterback makes all discussion, aside form SW durability issues, a moot point. SW was moving the ball well at times last year, there's no guarantee than Stidhan will be allowed to become the QB he might actually be, and even MW might eventually decide for greener fields if the usual path for QB development returns. With less predictability, even a slightly different playbook, and allowance for off-season quarterback coaching... there's no telling what they might develop into?

I am sure it will be next year. He isn't even healthy to compete at Auburn yet. He will need to see what he can get done in fall.

However, Miller will be coming into fill the spot after Stidham.

So Woody is going the JUCO route. I hope that gives him what he needs to make it as a QB.
