Just an absolutly, horrible break. We would have won today had Thompson not gotten injured in the 5th or we would have won the series 2 of 3 had we kept our normal rotation of Ortman and Thompson starting Friday and Saturday respectively.

But we didn't do any of that therefore we suck. There's no arguing against it ellitor..we aren't good.

Fair enough but outside the bullpen talent is not the issue. We aren't good because the player's, specifically the seniors are not listening and buying into CSG's philosophy and because CSG is not effectively communicating with them to get the message across. The talent is there to execute where we have failed in the important situations.

Can someone please explain to me the deal with Golloway? Seems like there's junk on the Bunker about him every week and Hoke and Tate seem to be backing it up, but I don't think I've seen too many specifics and there's always the "but the players aren't buying in" excuse. I've heard some solidly negative stuff about him from a HS coach, but who is a Bammer of the highest order and it's kinda hard to put much stock in that, haha.

I mean, it's pretty obvious he was run out of Norman, and I'm disliking the situation more and more every day, but it's hard to tell how much of it is on Golloway and how much is on the players.

I’m told #Auburn freshman starting pitcher Keegan Thompson’s foot injury (broken bone) will likely end his season. He's 5-3 with a 2.01 ERA.

From what I hear (two people in AD), E can correct things I'm sure, but some of the team has bought in while others don't. Lot of the people that don't really have a choice but to grind it out buy in

Galloway doesn't make friends. Not with his players, not with administration or anyone. I heard him called "a bad dude" and not how the surfers in Rocket Power use 'bad.' What I have heard consistently though is that Galloway is a winner and when players buy in, douche or not, Galloway will overacheive.

To sum it up, us losing is on the players since Galloway is a great coach at getting the Ws. The fact that the players aren't buying in is on Galloway due to being a douche canoe.

If one side flinched and would either A) Buy in for the players or B) Galloway stopped being a dick to let the players buy in, we would be great.

So do we consider Year 1 a success or failure or neither?

Failure. We took a step backwards.

There may have been circumstances where I could feel that we didn't make post-season play and still could have had a successful year.

Those circumstances didn't even come close to occurring.

I'd say failure. Pathetic way to end the season getting swept and blown out of the last games.

Failure. The team limped to the finish line and all around never had a single weekend where they didn't play sloppy baseball.

Exactly. This includes the 2nd quarter of the season when we were winning. We were still playing sloppy.

I was not impressed. From what I saw, there was no element of surprise. If we got a guy on base, we were going to try something....steal, bunt, anything but trying to move him with a hit. The other team knew this. Third base coaching ran us out of bookoo innings. I know he has a great resume, but I was not impressed with his coaching decisions........at all!

We have terrible baseball talent. Sonny doesn't like them because they suck. We have to give the guy 3-4 years. Sans 2010, we have not had a great baseball team in a long time, which is unacceptable being so close to the hot bed of talent in B'ham and ATL.
