Sammie was a little disappointing but we all know he's gonna do some shite this year that makes everyone's jaw drop. I feel like Nick doesn't have to be perfect with Melvin and Duke. Those guys just need it in their vicinity and they attack

Jeff Whittaker needs to stay on the bench. Great guy but not sure ive ever seen him make a play whatsoever.
Thiught CAP looked great. Not sure why many seem down on him. Hes very tough to tackle and imo fills the mason role well. Just stoo fumbling!

Apparently we should just hang it up now because Texas A&M has won everything after week 1. I've seen several on twitter saying they should be ranked as high as 2?

Agree with both of your posts lawson. Sammie needs to make that catch to be considered an elite WR. No he isn't as smooth of a thrower as JJ, but he is still solid.

What are our impressions on the o line? They seemed to protect well. I didn't notice how they were rotating them. Sla de didn't make mistakes. Is Arkansas d line any good?

You could tell that Kozan was missed some. The line wasn't fully gelled like they would have been after being together for a good stretch. They will be good though, just need a few games to bring it together. Luckily for us, next week should be a relatively easy walk to help get the team on the same page and then another test.

Philon and Flowers are supposed to be very good. Pretty much neutralized them yesterday.

In Coach Ellis's post game interview, he said that Arky was lining up in some formations that they'd never been in before and blocking it in a way they'd never done before. Seems they did the same thing they did last year and did shite they've never done before.
He said they made the adjustment at half time. He also said that Therieze was a difference maker and really stood out on defense when he finally got to play.

Agreed. The best thing about this is we got to play an SEC opponent now to get our guys up to game speed quicker. The biggest leap is suppose to come between weeks 1 and 2, and we definitely found some areas needing improvement. Now we get a good opponent to really work on some specialized stuff before a tough road game.
Like I said in the in-game thread, I didn't see anything on defense that couldn't be corrected. Our DT's were grossly overrunning plays or darting inside to soon. If you are going to do that, the LB's have to step up to fill those holes. They didn't. Fixable stuff though.
I also said a while back it would be interesting to see Reed covering an offense that he doesn't know. At times he looked good, and at times he looked really bad.

Yea, if you were going to tell me after that first half that they would run the ball 6 times, and only get 2 yards, I would have laughed. We shut down the run and jumped up on them, forcing them to pass. That was how the game should have gone from the start.

I can see this. I mean at times it just looked like they were letting a DT run past them, and then the linemen would then start to block him out of the play. Opened up a huge hole because the DT wasn't there anymore. once we stopped going for huge penetration and just whipped your guy and stood your gorund, we stopped them.

I think Therezie was the MVP of the defense yesterday, even with somewhat limited playing time.
Dude is just a baller and playmaker. He loves to knock dicks in the dirt and always has. I remember when we were recruiting him, he had a reputation down here in South Florida of being the hardest hitting high school player around. Just loves contact.

Because he was too busy coaching a live game to sit there and analyze every facet of an offensive scheme and how to stop it, and then communicate it to his players

Yep. I mean they don't really have slow mo instant replay up their in the box. To Johnson, it probably looked like Blackson was just getting great penetration then going all retard (he was some).
It is hard to make those types of adjustments on the fly.
