Then Justin Ferguson is wrong. 7/8 All SEC FR started >50% of SEC games. The lone exception is Jontay Porter who started in 33% but avg 25.6 mpg in SEC play.

Okeke also has a lower scoring average than everyone on the team + lower rebounds/game relative to the two post men included

His exclusion is pretty fair. He is probably a better player than most on that list, he just wasn't needed like those other guys
You may be right. He deleted his tweet he had with stats of Chuma being a better scorer & rebounder per minutes played than 3 of the 8 freshman on the list.

Yeah but Jared is arguably the MVP of the league. He should have been on the 1st team since it was 8 players.

I looked it up, I am definitely right on what I said

He deleted it because it was wrong about the scoring per minute

Scoring Per Minute Played
1. Sexton .625
2. Gafford .543
3. Knox .486
4. Waters .470
5. Starks .455
6. Porter .403
7. Gilgeous-Alexander .401
8. Weatherspoon .389
9. Okeke .366

Clearly not everyone values Harper's contributions as much as you do is the point

I'm just going to point out it is rare for a 44% 2FG / 31.5% 3FG SEC play point guard to make a All SEC team or even be considered for "MVP."

If Harper is going to be a clear 1st team player, he needs to be more than an icyhot scorer. It's hard to make it as an "assist man" it is too easy to be overlooked

Auburn has had 2 SEC leading scorers get snubbed from 1st Team All SEC

I just am not expected Jared Harper by virtue of assists making 1st Team All SEC

Come on man. Use your noggin. You know damn well I wasn't saying that. I was adding it to his scoring.

Is this real?

All we can do is keep crushing them all.

Do you honestly think AU would have gone 13-5 in the SEC winning every game in those wins by 8 or better w/out the way Jared led the team, the way he facilitated the O, & big time shots he made? If you really think that then you have completely lost your damn mind on basketball. I'm done! I don't need this stupidity or the stress that comes with it. I am already pissed off enough at the SEC Coaches today.

I think Harper should be 1st team, but my point is I am not going to blame non AU fans for overlooking his contributions is my point. Especially since it wasn't like they picked another PG not Chiozza over Harper

Coaches voting on this don't get to see the whole picture regarding Harper, they see snippets/film cutups etc. Harper has some inconsistency and his contributions aren't the flashy kind that get unanimous love is all

Harper isn't the only snub, with Admiral Schofield not making it despite being arguably better than Grant Williams in SEC play

Both KT Harrell + Chris Denson were snubbed in the past 5 years as leading SEC Scorers

Coaches don't pay attention to what actually goes on around their league. They vote off their perceptions

I’m guessing this is sarcasm? I could see this regarding the AP but not so sure the coaches don’t know what’s going on. I think it’s more agenda driven.

I think Rig meant that coaches vote based on their experiences playing against said player, not how the player performs in league play

For example, Rick Barnes isn't going to bother keeping close track of AU's players in the 16 games following AU v TN. He more than likely is going to base his vote on 1) How they performed v TN 2) Basic stats/perception

The AP voters generally do a better job of trying to vote guys based on their whole season. They do however fall into narrative traps, which explains how Sexton was 1st Team All SEC

Some of y'all don't remember that Cam Newton lost SEC Player of the Year to a Tennessee tennis player that no one knew and no one remembers to this day.

Everyone else in the SEC thinks Auburn is paranoid and overly sensitive.

It ain't paranoia or sensitivity when everybody else historically has shite on you and continues to shite on you.

Preach it brother, but I say "EMBRACE THE HATE". I used to wonder why, but now I just say "frick the SEC" because I expect the coaches and ADs to be pricks.

I wish the coaches had to reveal their ballots, so we could know who our friends are.

My guess is we have friends from Ole Miss, South Carolina and maybe Vandy.

They are scared and giving Bruce or our players credit would only validate our program has arrived. It could bolster our recruiting, which scares the blue bloods in the conference.
