Catching balls has nothing to do with changing scheme.

I have been very impressed with the kid. I have seen him make very few bad decisions with the ball. He throws an accurate pass. He needs to work on his touch just a tad. It looks to me like everything he throws is his fastball. We can win a lot of games with him as our QB.

Let's take a look at our schedule:

* SEC home games: Arkansas, LSU, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt
- Realistically 2 of 4 should be wins with a third possible.

* SEC road games: Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia
- Realistically 2 of 4 here. MSU will be Dak-less next year and Ole Miss loses a ton. UGA and Bama are always tough road games.

* OOC games all at home: Clemson, Arkansas State, ULM and Alabama A&M
- Three should be easy wins with Clemson being the odd one out. Right now they are world beaters ahead of us but it is at home.

That is 7 wins with a few more that are winnable.

I was kind of having fun at first and truly I'm not trying to be that guy, but I just don't see White being the guy in the system Gus runs. Heck, even Gus is still hoping JJ can turn the corner

Are you saying it's okay to have shitty WR play with a running QB?

I bet Cam and Nick Marshall would disagree with you

I'm still firmly in the want a elite dual threat camp, but Sean White was outstanding today. He really couldn't have played any better. What was probably his worst pass should have been a 30 yard 3rd down conversion to Cox.

I can barely think of a non throw away pass that should have been an incompletion. He under threw Louis on a deep ball and the one to Stevens in OT was a bit under thrown but you can't ask for anything else from your QB than what you got from White today.

I'm not talking about today though. I think Arky's pass defense was near the bottom of the conference. Like I said before, White played lights out. I'm just not sure if he'll be the QB to get us over the hump against good teams. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ecstatic about how good he's looked so far.

I think good defenses will shut down the passing game easier than they could shut down a potent read option offense. I hope I'm wrong, but this is just my opinion at this point.

I won't disagree here, but Sean White did not lose this game as you pointed out. His accuracy was pretty bad arse.

It baffles me that the same people that think White can't win in this offense are the same people that think JJ could if he improved

They're the same type of QB.

Sean is not responsible for the defensive play either.

The defense makes me very very sad.

Yeah I agree. Who the hell needs QB that can actually pass. I bet you were one of those people suggesting we move Jason Smith to QB a couple weeks ago.

Totally agreed, and that's why I complimented him. It's not like I don't think Sean is a good qb, he just doesn't fit the system in place.

Bama lost to Ole Miss because they couldn't stop a good passing game.

I think Sean can get us over the hump. Does Sean have the players to help him?

I just really cannot follow you. It's not like our failures this game on offense were schematic failures - the plays developed all the way to their end point.

It's not like players were being asked to do things they shouldn't have to do - wide receivers are to supposed to catch the ball.

the points of failure in the play, the vast majority of the time, were at the point of contact between the receiver and the ball. saying "oh well we arent running the right system" doesn't fly here. Why are we recruiting receivers who cannot catch a ball? Unless we're Georgia Tech or Navy, we have zero excuse.

Dude he looks really really good in this offense. He looks extremely comfortable throwing the ball. I haven't seen a guy hit this many receivers in the numbers in a long time. I think Gus is still trying to develop the offense around him. I bet UGA fans would take him over their shitacular situation at QB.

It's really not about the Arky game at all, it's about going forward. Without a potent read option and dual qb we will not compete against the big boys.

Bookmark this. If we have Sean white at Qb through his senior year our ceiling is 7 win seasons. Get mad and bang on your computer all you want, but we all know it's true. The personnel is not in place and we don't have the recievers. 7 wins tops.

are we watching the same fricking player?
