Stop it.

I don't care if he is the fastest guy on the planet. He sucks on the sweeps. Yes I know he scored on one of them. Rodney Garner could have walked that one in.

Give Jason Smith or Davis or Truitt a chance

Are you implying that Louis missed holes?

I thought Louis played one of his best overall games in an Auburn uniform today.

I'm implying that Louis is not a good ball carrier. THis is not a new notion for me.

I agree. I think one was successful against USCe last year, but that's it.

I'll expand the statement and say we need to stop any play that involves Ricardo getting the ball behind the LoS. They take too long to develop, and end up being drive killers. Next thing we know it's 3rd and long, and then we're punting

Maybe, but on speed sweeps he goes full tilt to the sideline and then cuts it up if he can. There's no cuts up field or making guys miss.

I don't want my speed sweep guy to be physical. I want him to be shifty. I want him to cut up field rather then stretching every run to the sideline. I want him to change direction or make a guy miss.

No he doesn't. Ricardo is the most O-Mac like player since O-Mac himself. He runs fast and to the sidelines.

I'm more worried about being able to stop other teams sweeps at this point. Almost everytime Louisville ran that play there was nobody even close being able to contain the edge.

Agreed... we did a terrible job setting the edge in the second half.

we have seemed to have issues with runs out wide for a while now.

If I was an offensive coordinator for an opposing team and it was 3rd and 4 or 5, i would run the option out wide. i don't remember the last time we stopped that play

We did everything terrible in the 2nd half but the outside runs were the one thing we were giving up in the first half too.

Well, when their receivers are pulling down our defensive backs by their jerseys...it's tough to set the edge. I really thought there were some terrible no calls on the blatant holding by Louisville. Where were those refs from?

Not gonna blame the refs, they did miss a blatant hold on at least one but the fact is our DBs shouldn't be in that situation on an island.

I'm really tired of explaining this, but bubble screens and sweeps open up play to the middle because they schematically bias the D towards the outside. These are the plays that allow Barber to carry it ten yards through the line.

I would like to see Jason Smith on the sweeps. He's much more electric with the ball in his hands

Louis may be one of the worst route runners I've ever seen. He also almost runs into the qb every time one those sweeps.
