I was off. Revised expectations to match reality. If Gus continues to succeed this year, then I’ll view it as a coach improving, or one who is just pissed off and actually wanted to get back to his element. If we drop 4 games then Gus will have met my expectations for the season.

If you want to lump me in the crowd who isn’t allowed back on, whatever.

Once Auburn spanks Florida in the swamp Saturday and Auburn becomes a top 3 team in the nation

First off, we will need people to lose above us to move up especially that high. There is little to 0 chance for us to jump into the top 3 if none of 3-6 lose. Yes we have the best resume so far in college football, but last I checked they didn't hand out National Championship Trophies for winning September.

Also, the 4 most difficult games on the schedule still remain. Even after this week, 3 of the 4 most difficult games on the schedule will still remain.

Anyone who got off the "bus" didn't do so prematurely. Gus gave every reason for each and every person to abandon that "bus." I mean you sure are talking a BIG GAME when the 3 games Gus ALMOST ALWAYS loses have yet to be played. I mean against the 3 biggest games remaining on the schedule, Gus has a combined record of 6-13. Including 0-3 at LSU.

From the way your OP is shite talking, you'd think we had already beaten the trio of LSU, UGA, and Bama. But we haven't.

It seems as though you have learned nothing from each season under Gus. Because if you had, you would be cautiously optimistic, but certainly not running your mouth like you did in the OP. I mean how many seasons have we been highly ranked and looked like a legitimate contender for the season to fall apart at the end? All but year 1? I mean 2017 you could say didn't fall apart at the end, but it kind of did. We blew the SEC Championship because we didn't have another RB ready to play, then lost to a g5 team in the bowl, and still finished with 4 Ls on the schedule.

You would think my Auburn brethren would have learned from the past and not talk major shite in September, but most of you haven't. Most of you are flapping your lips like you are oblivious to Gus' history at Auburn.

In 2014 what happened with the D is still mind boggling. That was a 10-3 team IMO.
In 2016 that was a 9 win team if we don't get that crazy bowl game draw, but it was never a very good team.
2014 was the butt fumble and the beginning of FG Gus against Alabama and the choke game against UGA
2016 choked again against uga

I don’t deserve to be back on the bus and I’m fine with that. I’m hoping he continues this transformation into a great head coach.

But he lost at home to Tennessee last year. Let’s not pretend that didn’t happen.

Every bus has a breakdown but you don’t dare get off or you just might get left behind when it starts rolling again.

I'm not even interested in getting back on the bus, but I want him to become a great coach at Auburn. Lanier is sticking his chest out for the first time since the 2014 Texas A&M game.

I mean. what? WTF are you taking about? Please show me anywhere in this entire thread that I even hinted toward anything you spewed out?

The only prediction I made was that we would beat UF this weekend. Passed that, I made ZERO predictions or even insinuations.

Dont just make stuff up. Your entire post is laughable.

negative talk will be loud as ever

This is what I really don't understand. Perfection is next to impossible, especially playing our schedule year after year.

What coach in the nation could play Auburn's schedule and make it unscathed? Saban? Dabo? Kirby? Like it or not, the SEC west is brutal right now, and having our crossover game as GA and FL this year is not great.

I still say Dabo at Auburn and folks would have been bitching just as loud. Gus at Clemson, he looks like a genius. Schedule differences are night and day.

ETA- Gus is different this year, I haven't been able to predict every play. It's been nice.

I wasn't asking for a seat. Just don't call me and Bob Stoops to tow you out when the bus goes off the cliff again.

You guys act like Gus has made some kind of permanent change and is a new man now. Everyone will be off the Gus bus again next year when we have a shitty O line and lose 5 games. Such a roller coaster with Gus and Auburn fans. Even if we suck next year he shouldn’t be fired because it is easy to forget how good we have been overall since Gus has been our coach and how bad we have had it before. Remember in 2012 when our fans we wearing paper bags on their heads during home games?

A Bus makes lots of stops and starts lets see how everyone feels next year when we have a weak OL and win only 7-8 games.

That is BS and you know it. I have been on the Bus for the majority of his tenure and always said he is what he is. Frustrating and at time erratic. He doesnt always win the games he should which can be said for any coach in the NCAA.

I have always said he has given Auburn football higher highs in his 8-9 years than any coach in a very long time. That is all. I hate the fact that he changed his offense and I still feel that way. I do not like the offense we are running now, I didnt like it last year and I didnt like it when Sean White was running it. I have never wavered from that.

I just think its funny that so many cant see the benefits over the failures. No coach we will ever hire will be without failures. Not a single one. Its just the "Auburn thing" to do with coaches what they have done with Malzahn. Its why you hear stupid shite from the press like we did last week. Auburn boosters looking to replace him. They say it because it has happened in the past and a big portion of our fan base is so obsessed with UA, they cant see straight

Gus is good for Auburn. He has brought many good things. More than any coach in a loooooong time. He is also learning and will get better if he decides to stay and take the abuse he does

Pretty much what I have said for a few years. Next year will be a trying year. This year will be as well. We will not win the rest of our games. I dont think anyone expects that. If we somehow win this weekend, we will have 6 games remaining to play. 3 of those will be against top 5 teams. No coach in the league could run the schedule. But as soon as Auburn loses one of them, the wheels will fall off. Just silly

The Gus Bus is a very inconsistent mode of transportation. Sure things are great now but on this bus the route never stays the same.,

Technically, 8.83 is averaging 9 wins a season. I've never understood how being slightly less average means so much to fans. I call it the uga complex.
