If a block buster true DT QB becomes available, Freeze will jump on it. Thorne has shown some grit but as others mention, it could be his ceiling. We absolutely need a record and playing performance next year which will net us a top 5 recruiting class in 2025.

Cam Ward the only one I'd drop a million on right now.
He's not a DT, but I think he could run enough to be make the defense worry.

He knows he needs a better spot to finish his career. He had no help this season at Coastal.

Was our #1 guy last year. Couldn’t come because of academics. Now a grad transfer and doesn’t have same issues.

Did you watch / re-watch the games?
Anyone can cherry-pick stats. Drops? Just curious as I haven't checked all stats, but has any other QB had 57 / 92 rushing yards against uga / bama? Sacks included, right? fricked up platooning with Robby. Right? What doesn't show up in a stat line is Payton Thorne lowering his shoulders and delivering punishment on bama linebackers for a 1st down. That is more than enough for me.
Stats and all, QB PT threw 2 picks vs. Bama. Did you see them? You understand how much they meant? Asking for myself. Politely, GTFO.
Reminder - while W/L matters above all else, a fricked-up hodge-podge of AU players undeer a 1 st year HC HF, new co-ordinators played top-10 uga, ole miss and bama to one score games. The bama game was won, except it wasn't. If you want stat lines, pls double-check AU-bama and please explain them to us. WDE.

There are 22 starters on O and D, and then there are special teams. So roughly 66 players play in a typical game. And then there are the coaches. You want to pin the NMSU loss on Payton Thorne? Good luck with that and you too can GTFO with your non-sense. We were whipped on both lines, in all phases by a hungrier and better-prepared team. That doesn't all fall on QB PT. That shite-show must be owned by every single player and coach.

Thorne was legit the only player on the field for Auburn during that game that looked like he showed up to play....
