Trust me, if we have to pay 6-7 mil/yr, we EASILY can swing that. We also have a good understanding that Gus, at this point, appears to be an investment. Him succeeding will bring in immensely more revenue than the 6-7 mil/yr we're paying him.

Perception only matters to fans. Coaches care about having the opportunity, if having a successful season, to play for the National title. That is an elite program, acc'd to coaches. Auburn is playing for our 2nd in 4 years. That is as elite as it gets right now, outside of bammer.

I think Gus is very happy at Auburn. He was on a staff that won a NC. He has coached another team to the NC game. He has seen he can win a NC at Auburn. He is a small town guy and Auburn is a wonderful small southern town. I think there is ZERO % chance Gus goes to Texas.
