After reading this I now know how AU_251 felt when seeing JJ run out of the locker room pre-game.

Really impressed with Nick. He's got his head on straight for sure. I'm now certain that he'll be the guy.

Has any HS coach anywhere not hyped his players before they went college?

- His INTs were because of their defense, which gave up tons of points. Nick felt like he always had to make plays.

Sounds like he is going to continue to throw a bunch of interceptions.

take a look at what Malzahn and Lashlee did for Ryan Aplin's numbers in 2012...

2011: 19 TDs/ 16 INTs
2012: 24 TDs/ 4 INTs

He also threw for fewer yards per game, but upped his completion percentage from 64% to 68%.

My point is not to expect those types of numbers from Marshall, but it is a good sign that our staff knows how to make a QB more efficient.

Garden City's defense gave up 49 or more points in 5 out of their 10 games.

I think one aspect of NM people really haven't discussed is his return to the SEC. After being dismissed from Georgia, getting his sh*t together and coming back to the conference to play the position he always wanted to I think he'll show tremendous work ethic and probably play with an edge.

I certainly hope he is the answer...... would be great, we have done well with transfer QBs in the past....

Malzahn sells prospective QBs on the notion that they can come in and play as a freshman in his offense.
This offense was made for a guy like Marshall.
I expect by the 3rd or 4th game Auburn will be accused of paying him.

That would be a stellar accomplishment for Garden City's D.

And to expand on this, look at what Gus and Rhett have done with QB's interception ratios.

Chris Todd: Before Gus 1 INT for every 26 pass attempts. With Gus 1 INT for every 52 pass attempts.

Ryan Aplin: Before Gus 1 INT for every 30 pass attempts. With Gus 1 INT for every 102 pass attempts.

Kyle Frazier with Gus, 1 INT every 2 Pass attempts.
