Hoke went to Kansas and spoke with Marshall and his coach. Summary:

- He's 6'2 205lbs

-Will report June 14th

- His coach said he's as good or better than Eli Roberson and Michael Bishop, former K-State stud QBs that he coached

- Had two games with over 700 yards of total offense this season

- His INTs were because of their defense, which gave up tons of points. Nick felt like he always had to make plays.

- His coach said we're getting the best QB in the country, and expects him to play immediately

If his coach didn't throw out hyperbole like this, I'd be more inclined to take him at his word. Best QB in the country? Really?

Sounds awesome. I have high hopes for both Marshall and Johnson. I hope they are as good as advertised.

To be fair, if my QB was putting up 700 yards a game, I'd say he was the best too

I would surmise that he is talking about the Junior College ranks.

Marshall was a second team NJAA all-american finishing behind only Jake Waters. I can see where he would get that opinion.

Also, Tyrik Rollison was an honorable mention. Didn't realize he played for Tyler JC in Texas.

He could be the 140th best QB in the country and still be better than what we got.

he's gotta be about out of eligibility... he signed in 09... transfered to like Sam Houston St before 2010... then played JUCO in 2012?... 2013 would be his RS senior year.

Cam was a 2007 signee and played, transferred to JUCO, played in 2010 and still had a year of eligibility left when he left Rollison under the same track would have 2 years after Cam exhausted his eligibility which would give him at least the 2013 season

I've also heard that "...he's the best football player in America."

While this seems far fetched, I'm starting to drink the kool-aid (as much as I want JJ to play) and hot damn does it taste good.

Definitely an amazing runner, so we shall see.

I lived in Garden City for three years. If Marshall doesn't have the play book down, I'll be very surprised, because there is NOTHING to do in that town. Hoping he's as good as advertised.

I remember reading an article on Nick Marshall where his head coach was answering questions about him, and he (head coach) said that he (Nick Marshall) was probably one of the smartest guys he ever coached. Don't quote me, but it was something like that. You have to think he meant his football IQ, but either way, I doubt he'll have trouble getting the playbook down if that's the case.

He won't need to know everything to be more helpful than our current guys.

Yeah, I don't doubt he's intelligent and can learn the playbook. I was mainly feeling sorry for him for being stuck in Garden City.

If he knows which lineman to get behind to receive the snap, I say start him.

It does not matter when or where Rollison signed. The only thing that determines your 5 year clock time is it starts the first semester you take a full class load. Even though Rollison signed with Auburn in 2009 if he did not take a full course load til 2011 at any 2 or 4 year school til the fall of 2011 then he would be a junior or RS Soph eligibility wise for the 2013 season.
