No RB besides KP has had a single carry in the last two games.

Let that sink in.

That's what is pissing me off. Kam runs awesome in first game and doesn't get a carry in past two games. He needs a change of pace back anyway. Makes no sense to me.

Because we have very poor depth.

BS. Barrett and Miller are studs. Martin is good in a certain role.

Chandler Cox doesn't count as a RB?

We don't have enough depth to use another runningback against Mercer? Wut?

Our starter is a bigger problem than our depth. My dislike of Gus is becoming unhealthy.

It makes perfect sense.

He's trying to save his job.

Doesn't matter if a player is injured or not.

HE'S.

TRYING.

TO.

SAVE.

HIS.

JOB.

After 30 carries of being largely ineffective he thinks the solution is to just keep doing the same thing?

It's the player's fault. Doesn't have much to do with coaching.

It's almost like Gus Malzahn was trying to punish Kam Pettway by just running him into the ground and not substituting other running backs in. Not to mention, the guy is obviously hurt.

Devan Barrett, Kam Martin, Malik Miller...0 carries.

AGAINST MERCER.

If he thinks it will help him beat frickING MERCER so he doesn't get fired in the post-game locker room? Yes.

How would you know this? They have like 8 career carries between them

Today with Pettway was sickening.

Let's all review the reasons you don't force your main RB to tote the rock 30+ against the easiest opponent on your schedule:

1. He was hurt last week
2. You don't want him hurt next week when you start SEC
3. Pettway will be in NFL next year; you want RBs next year ready
4. To have another RB ready this year in case Pettway and Johnson are hurt, suspended, etc.
5. Because backups have worked hard in practice and deserve playing time; high moral is good in team sports

Did I mention keeping Pettway healthy for the real games that matter down the road (i.e. The games that will determine if Gus is employed on Jan 1st).

We saw Martin show flashes of promise, and we are going to run KP into the ground at this rate.

So what I'm struggling to decipher is where you land on the whole Gus Malzahn as our coach thing, cause me calling out the entirety of all SEC coaches minus Saban and Mullen sure as shite seemed to have struck a nerve.

We have depth. Goes back to my comment about Gus's offense not utilizing talent. Devin Barrett should have 30 carriers already. You don't sit a top 150 skill player because he's a "freshman".

Pettway servers a purpose but he's no homerun threat. Would like to see 10 or 12 of his carries go to someone else.

From what I've seen so far this year, that's no guarantee.
