I know I am probably stating the obvious here. But it's time to look at other options at qb. For a Gus lead offense to be successful the qb has to run the ball. Jeremy Johnson is not that guy and on top of that he is not the pocket passer we were lead to believe either. He struggles terribly at reading defenses and making the right throw. Jason Smith is fast and athletic, played qb in juco and would bring back that running element that nick and cam brought. Doubt it happens but just an observation

It's amazing how much this ignorant statement gets thrown out. Gus doesn't need a running quarterback. He needs a quarterback that is at least good at something. Not many offenses would work with a QB who won't run and throws to the other team.

This is absolutely wrong. See Chris Todd 2009.

This is stupid.

The offense stinks because JJ right now is not good at ANYTHING.
If he was hitting his passes, defenses will back off and open up the run.
If he was running well, the rest off the running game would open up because he'd be a threat on the zone read.

But since he's not doing anything well...It's Gus' offense, right?

Exactly...

Ben Tate had 1362 yds and 10 TDs because...

Chris Todd had 2612 yds 22 tds and only 6 picks...61% completion percentage...

See what happens when you hit passes and don't throw picks

You realize that Todd's team went 8-5 (thanks to a lot of luck against NW) and sucked sack against SEC competition.

You're pimping a pretty shitty season baw

I think a dual threat makes the offense elite as Jonesy pointed out in another thread.

However, Thirdlawson is correct that we could be more competitive if JJ could at least be an efficient passer.

The offense set records that season.

And the only bad game the offense had was at LSU...

The defense was terrible...had 3 scholly LBs and no depth

Is that a question or an opinion?

I don't know how White will play. I have only seen him sitting next to Jeremy on the bench.

JJ has taught me not to assume anything anymore. My assumption meter was torn out recently.
