Yeah, because everyone knows what great success Sumlin has had with 5-star QBs.

I don't see what two headcases leaving because they got butthurt has to do with Stidham. That Kyler Murray kid is the biggest tard on the planet; turned down millions from the MLB (a sport wherein his future was hilariously brighter) to come to a back-loaded A&M roster as a 5'10 QB, and then whined his way off the roster after he wasn't handed the starting job.

Wasnt stidham like the 2nd rank duel threat qb?

It wouldn't be hard to sell him he could be great in Malzahns offense

He is a passing QB who can run. He is not a running QB. He is not looking for an offense wherein he will be used like Cam or Nick Marshall. Why do you think he went to Baylor in the first place? The passing offense.

In fact, he is actually fairly frail. I wouldn't want him running anyway.

They were all just seen leaving the basketball game. Gus, Jarrett and Rhett. Kam Martin came by and sat with them, and I believe more players also came by. All per 247.

Hope he see's that here at AU its pretty much the QB position that is holding us back from Top 10 (or maybe better).

I am a loyal, dues-paying, card-carrying member of Team Sean White, but would love to see SW be super-sub off the bench (if needed) and have a top-notch QB behind center again.

If Stidham comes in and plays well AND you have SW off the bench? That would be pretty quality QB depth right there.

I don't see where Sumlin offers a better chance of an NFL career than Gustav. Which seems to be the point you are arguing.

You can pontificate all day long about how many more passes TAMU attempts, but Sumlin's offense has gone through stretches every bit as gawdawful as ours has, even with tons of talent.

It all comes down to what Stidham wants to accomplish. He's not likely to compete for any kind of championship at TAMU. IF he came to AU we would be universally considered the 2nd best team in the league going into 2017.

But if he just wants to sling the ball 30-40 times a game, win or lose, TAMU is his best bet.

IMO, if Stidham goes to TAMU (after all of the uncertainty of wanting him, then not, then wanting him again, then not, and not returning calls, etc) then he was always headed there.

But I think that we can land him.

Cubelic tweeted that Stidham visit was supposed to have been a short one, ended up staying overnight and the visit has went really well.

You don't see how two 5 stars going to Texas A&M and tanking is relevant to Stidham?

We have a few things going against us here.

His gf goes to Baylor. Baylor is a lot closer to TAMU
Our offense is terrible
He's aware Lashlee may leave.

Our only hope is for TAMU to back off IMHO.

We are a good QB away from another NC and Tamu is not even close. Auburn's defense is better, a good crop of young WR to throw to and Pettway will be back to hand the ball to next year. So which team has the higher ceiling next year? Seems like an easy choice for me plus Sumlin's seat is getting hotter.

That's how we got them to Auburn. It all makes sense now.

No secret, I'm in Gus' camp. I'm assuming Lashlee stays. It's been reported that Stidham has a very strong relationship with Lashlee.

If we get Stidham, I think next year will give us what we need to fully evaluate Gus as a head coach, and determine if he's the right person for the job.

Next year, barring a rash of injuries and/or guys getting dismissed, Gus should have all the offensive pieces he needs to succeed.
