who do you want the candidates to be I would say go after pearl but if that doesn't work out I would hire Michael white the head coach at Louisiana tech because he is young, he turned around techs program and has maintained it for 3 seasons and can recruit the state of louisiana

Pearl or bust!
if we bust, throw Chuck in there...at least something about our program will be entertaining then

I nominate myself.
I will mobilize the bagmen, bring in ballers and sit back and let them ball.

If Auburn doesn't hire Pearl then the program should be shut down.

I don't see why it is teams like Southern Methodist who get guys like Larry Brown to fall into their lap. Here are some guys I started looking at when the fire Barbee train started rolling
Who we should get
Bruce Pearl- Duh.
Who I think we should also look like
Michael White UL-Tech - Former Ole Miss player and has been doing wonders at Louisiana Tech. Went from perpetual loser to 2nd place in WAC championship game in 1st season, 27-7 Tied 1st in WAC, now is 15-3 this season
Ray McCallum - University of Detroit- Led the University of Detroit, a reasonable basketball school out of a dark period of a few straight losing seasons to 4 straight winning seasons and 3 20+ win seasons (NCAA tourny in there). His son Ray McCallum Jr. no longer is on the team so he could be open to moving. Previous assistant at Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma so has some big time exposure

I am with this line of thinking.
IF we can't get Pearl, go after somebody else. Anybody else.

If NIT, still fire barbee?

We would have to finish the season winning at least 9 of their last 14 to make the NIT witch looks unlikely at this point

IMO he's gone there's no if's about it starting 0-4 in sec play should be the beginning of the end for Barbee
who I want as a replacement ? I still say Keith Dambrot of Akron but I have a feeling he's nothing more than a pipe dream
i'd forgotten the La Tech coach glad someone mentioned him

saw this on another board earlier this week
"Barbee just doesn't seem like a guy that really wants to be here. I think if we could both have do overs (Auburn and Barbee) we would both take it and he wouldn't be here and both parties would be mutually satisfied. This is the classic case of staying in a marriage for the kids. I think we're about to rattle off 3 more losses and at that point the nail will be in the coffin."

Knowing Auburn we'd go hire someone like John Pelphrey.

Bring in Pearl. If Pearl turns us down 3 times in 5 weeks then bring back Cliff Ellis.

I hope you sit on a dildo shaped grenade
