Put Jason Smith at QB, I'm sure he can make the same simple one read passes in the flat they are letting Sean White throw and he would be a much better runner.

I have no problem with this being attempted.

Dude needs a timeout in the corner, I shudder to think how is attitude is impacting the locker room.

They should play the sweep because it's so predictable

Gus should get one of those big bingo cages where you crank the handle and it spins. We could call plays bingo style and be more unpredictable.

Our WR route trees are so simple its unbelievable..and I don't understand it.

So are every other teams. The completed passes I saw this weekend from other games aren't some super complicated route. It's a quick slant, post, fade, etc. Receivers need separation and that's on them.

Or I guess coaches should design some route that take 12 minutes to develop by running a parabola-double-comeback-button-hook-cosign? We could have chalk all over that chalkboard. Those routes would be sick.

BTW, Gus is going to start Johnson again. All signs are pointing to it. I'd rather just see him turn White loose, but that's not going to happen. They don't trust him for whatever reason.

How about the fundamental flaw of not making our QBs read defenses? There's now way calling audibles from the sidelines helps our QB development.

I will go full nega if this happens. Like I said though, him not getting solidly behind White as the starter and handcuffing him this weekend was all I needed to see to know he is trying to keep the door open on JJ.

It was a crappy playbook full of plays from when Marshall was running around everywhere. It was full of single read plays that were designed for the threat of a running QB. Defenses sat in cover 2 and feasted. Don't get me wrong, JJ was bad, but the playbook didn't do him any favors.

I think the playbook we had for Louisville and the one we had by the second half of that game were different.

I do agree with this.

I would try JS assuming what we have seen out of SW is indicative of his ability level and not the play calling. My only real criticism of Gus in the past is the simplicity of his passing tree and without a true NFL back on the roster or a DT QB the passing tree has become a joke.

Exactly... having a deficiency at qb kills this offense... it happened in at times in 2009, again in 2011, and now in 2015.

The opening drive of the UL game is a good example of what play calling looks like when gus trusts the qb.

As for fixing what we have now... white has got to win their trust/confidence... Hopefully he can do that with the bye week, but the fact they won't name him the starter at this point is scary

Yeah. I'd prefer JJ at QB unless White has his training wheels taken off. As much as White has done to stabilize things - we aren't winning any SEC games with him at QB under White's current playbook.

Let the qb run the ball. If the qb can't run the read then call qb keep in the huddle 1/3 of the time.

watch Baylor, do that. Run the offense like an OC, not a head coach.

Our terrible defense that gave up 449 yards that game?

You mean the one that Football Outsiders said was #8 in the country once you adjust for strength of schedule?

or do you mean the team that was #9 in the country in rushing yards per game (#5 vs FBS winning teams)?

or maybe the team that was #10 in scoring defense vs AP Ranked opponents?
