That was a puzzling pick. The Rams have some serious needs. I don't think RB is one of them. I am not as big a Gurley fan as most people are either. I didn't watch every snap of UGA this season............but what I did see, I was more impressed with Chubb.

Rams will draft Marshall and run the zone read with Mason and Gurley in the backfield.

Auburn West.
I get getting Gurley, he is a monster with no shelf life. The Rams probably need two RBs if they hope to go the distance.
If they get Marshall then Fisher is the Auburn lover I thought he was. He'd added Gurley to give Mason a break.

BTW, Most NFL Teams use a 2-back system. How good will the Rams be with Mason and Gurley?!?
Jeff Fisher's last great team in Tennessee had a running game that featured both LenDale White and Chris Johnson. Fisher is old-school... likes to pound the rock and stretch the field vertically. Then play stout defense featuring a top-notch D-Line.
He's a 85 Bear.

frick the Panthers. I love me some Cam, but when he went to the Panthers, I was like "sorry bruh"... you the enemy now.
Same would apply to Mason.
And stay away from my blue steel boner. You know how much viagra I gotta take to get that fricker? Jeez. Buzz kill.

this is a great draft pick and a supplement to Mason.

Gurley has played one full season and he split carries that year. The other two seasons he got hurt in some way.

Ya, which is exactly why RBs don't go RD 1 anymore. Especially not ones that are perpetually injured.
If it was end of RD 1, maybe. I just don't see using a top 10 pick on a RB when you frequently are seeing rd 5-7 guys being all pro. Having a good OL + drafting a system specific RB gets you where you want to go all the same

To be fair, his 2013 injury was when an LSU (I think it was LSU?) player rolled up on his ankle from behind. I mean really there's not much any player can do in that situation. Anyone in that type of run would have been injured.
But yeah, this past year when he tore his knee against us that was all on gurley. I don't even think there was contact.

It isn't "oh this person is more prone to injury" necessarily (while it is possible), it is that reinjuring things is very very common.
