Sorry, just spent the last two hours fapping to the first half of the Arky game. BUT I imagined the 2015 OL along with our 2015 RBs. Whew!

Are the posts about him fighting true or just message board rumor?

If true, was it with teammates or people outside the program?
Hmmm...didn't he have a teammate that was supsended for a few games, allegedly for fighting (only the rumor was with a certain dairy-based assistant coach)?

Could the two situations be related somehow?

Big thread on 247 with Hoke & Augirl7 saying Duke left practice early on multiple occasions and that he did not adhere to the punishment he was given during this season.

If this is the case, let his arse go... Don't get me wrong he's a beast, but we don't need a shitty attitude on the team..

Insight from J. Hokanson

quote:

Wouldnt provide specific details, but...he left multiple practices early and refused to do whatever was assigned to him as punishment while others did perform said tasks. Said there are additional things that were similar in nature that are minor.

Maybe the coaches view Duke willing to serve time on the scout team to help prepare for Wisconsin as a turning point.

Yall need to suck it up. You really think we're going to have 85 guys with no attitude problems?

Needs to be properly punished and held to the punishment but not kicked off the team.

Exactly. Challenge him to grow up. If he doesn't, he doesn't play. Simple as that.

If they are minor offenses and he is showing contrition and at least some effort to fix it, why let him go?

Kid has been in very unstable environments his whole life and coddled as a star. While that is not an excuse for the behavior, he hasn't been taught to act within the rules and needs time to learn to be a solid teammate

For the record I'm 110% for Duke, think all of these team chemistry problems are overblown. My bestfriend who goes to Alabama said that multiple Bama football players jumped Trey Depriest's brother in Rounders earlier this year but they did just fine.

What I want to know from those of you that think Duke is leaving:

Why would he a) not have submitted paperwork yet? and b) be with the team doing scout team shite when he could be getting ready for the draft on his own or getting healthy?

If he's practicing and doing scout team work for a game he's suspended for, it seems pretty obvious he's not leaving. And why would he/Malzahn lie about it?

It would be great if he came back. Screw the Outback Bowl. I would just be really surprised if he did come back.

Regardless, the bowl game should hopefully be a good chance to see how the other guys look.

Why? 700 yard season; missed two big games with a knee injury, missing a third evaluation game due to suspension, literally less than one full season of D1 experience due to missed games.

Are some of you seriously surprised he's making the obvious decision to come back?

It's not the obvious decision. He was projected 1-2nd round just like Sammie.

Add that to the fact that we thought all along he was one and done and I can see why some are surprised

You don't have to say if anymore. Duke and Gus have said he's coming back.

By who? He is hardly a 1st round pick. Sammie is projected in that range because he's going to wow teams with his physical upside, he's also one of the few true potentially elite deep threats in this class. Duke can't fall back on a skill like that because there are a lot of receivers available that can do what he does.

Duke played well this year; but limited experience and game-tape, injury, and off-field concerns are all going to effect his stock.
