The problem with all of this is Gus admits the QB's practiced certain plays.

This is the most glaring issue. Instead of making a game plan around the strengths of the QB you named the starter and molding the offense around it, he just refuses to adapt.

I don't get it.

If you think I am wrong, you are going to be in the "mad" section about midnight on Saturday

He was hoping to say he was innovative. Revolutionizing the QB position.

No, I am still positive about the talent of players we have. Just calling out the coach who herps and derps with his game plans.

We have a great group of players that could have won that game Saturday night.

That has to be it.

This is why we need a legit OC, to slap Gus across the face when he goes off the deep end and reel him back in. I was hoping Hand was brought in to do that, but that obviously was not the case.

Neither can I. He is my last choice actually

I can agree that what Gus did with the rotation was absolutely insane, embarrassing, and full of failure.

It is not even possible to believe that it would work. Neve has. Never will

I expect more of the same moving forward.

see my post. Its coming

I would rather have Barrett in finding his way than that shite show Saturday. What pisses me off is that Gus and Lashlee don't even have the sense to recognize and admit, that they aren't QB coaches.

fricking A

Still not overly excited over the OL in particularly the tackles. Dampeer is average at best.

I am not worried about the OLine Rocky. They were totally handcuffed by the shitshow that was thrown at them Saturday. They will improve and get more consistent. Not worried here

Oh goody, at least we get to say we didn't get blown out. Whoopity doo. I hate Dabo and we could have won.

Yea, I am not much on moral victories. We should've won that game

I am not sure what is more crazy. Gus playing every QB on the team Saturday night or you guys believing that Gus would hire a OC to take over the offense.

Not to take over the offense, just to be the slight voice of reason and say, "Gus, I hear what you're saying, but the football world just isn't ready for a 5 QB rotation just yet. Let's stick to one and go from there".

I had my head in the sand until Saturday night when I watched Gus double down on "the plan" for the Qb rotation. I am afraid he will not learn from his mistakes and doom us to repeat them. Lanier is correct, we will run that same garbage Saturday and win by 40 so he will feel like it works. We might even make a run at A&M and LSU with the defense holding strong. But it will look like UF last year as we get our shite pushed in late season against maturing teams.

I could still be wrong and Gus will realize he cannot invent a new play rotation with QB's that no one else could. Hopefully it is before the team quits on him.

This is honestly how I feel with this team

We will win our 3 OOC games. We will beat Vandy, Miss St and Arkansas. We have a very good chance against Texas AM, LSU and UGA. We will have our hands full against Ole Miss and Bama

We can win some games this year. We have everything we need. Its just a matter of them putting a few round pegs in round holes.

That contract extension looks really bad in this moment

It looked pretty awful to begin with when it was blamed on giving him security in recruiting.

Or, in other words, "we have no real reason to think 18 year olds will care about a 1 year extension, but we're going to pay a million dollars to a declining coach just in case one of them does."

I can agree with JF3 needed to come in some as a change of pace in the Red Zone, but right now it looks like he is scared to keep the ball on fear of making a mistake.

Not sure if I agree with him being scared. He made the right read most of the time, I think he missed one chance to keep. Clemson was playing QB run pretty strongly when he was in the game but agree with the rest of your post especially

The prob with JJ is he can't go through reads fast enough, he doesn't step up in the pocket, and he runs scared.

After carefuly watching the game on TV, I don't think it was a read at all. I think his plays were designed handoffs. He wasn't going to pull it at all

IMO he never read it either. Gus fears the fumble and JFIII has fumble issues.

Going back to the original thread, Sean may be our best bet but he is still not good. After watching the 4th quarter last night, he made some terrible throws in it. The interception in the end zone was all on him. Guy was open, Sean was just incredibly late getting the ball out. Double pumps. He got saved on the 4th down play where he totally missed Slayton on the 10 yard short pass. It was behind him and fortunately, the Clemson defense hit him late giving us 1st down. We then scored on the Johnson run.

Then on the very last drive, he missed a incredibly easy 10 yard crossing pass to
Ryan Davis on 2nd down.

Not sure if he has some JJ yipes or what but he needs to make those easy passes most of the time. He is doing good on the downfield passes to guys wide open but the short ones are killing him

True.

I have been off and on the "frick Lashlee" train, but its more than apparent now after all this time that the engineer of the shite Train Auburn Offense is Gus Malzahn.
