Maybe, maybe not, but there was palpable hate on the dude starting with the loss at the swamp his freshmen year. Some of it is the nature of sports and social media these days but I'm convinced some of it because people who have burned by legacies in their own life just wanted the dude to fail. He was the most criticized AU player in quite a while. Like 75% of AU fans probably knew or understood nothing about the OL and WR and coaching situation around him so it was always gonna be tough for the guy. Most people just don't understand football. I just wish people had not been so loud about it. He got boo'd when announced starter at a couple home games.

I co-sign to this. And before any one says anything like “it’s normal to boo when quarterbacks suck” Bo didn’t suck for most of his career. He had some bad games but even his worst was rarely near Finley/ Ashford lows

Exactly! Finally! This is all I've wanted the Bo haters to admit for years!
I'm no Bo hater but he made more than his fair share of dumb throws at Auburn. Those aren't on anyone but him. Good QBs don't do that.

This just means the situation he's in makes up for it. Another reason I hate them giving QBs credit for a 90 yard pass that a WR fought for 85 of.

I think it was more Harsin. Isn’t he on record saying he was miserable every day playing for Harsin?

Actually the exact opposite. He and Harsin left on good terms. Sure Harsin’s roster made Bo miserable.

Just as there was palpable hate on Caddy's coaching decisions Saturday night.

Most knowledgeable AU fans understand the circumstances and adjust their expectations accordingly. I can't think of anyone who 'hated' Bo for his performance against the Gators that day other than the usual short attention span idiots.

Agree, no good QB has ever made a bad/dumb throw. I'm sure we can verify that with each Heisman and HOF QB throughout history.

I sorry you are only for or against everyone but I can support someone and see them for what is their fault too.

HOF QB's don't go jekyll and Hyde every other game.

Speaking of which, I've noticed alpine's conspicuous absence in my Mea Culpa thread...dude had some absolutely horrendous takes he ought to be apologizing for...

Blame your favorite coach for that. Bo didn’t carry that with him to Oregon.

Were you proud of white fullback from Georgia State running for a buck fifty that day? Did you like that our running game was nonexistent until the 4th quarter? The Jeckyl and Hyde was our entire sluggish rosters at times.

Feerless you’re so right.

Utah must have won Saturday I saw a post from him in some thread this morning. He disappeared for like a month.

I thought of ole Alpine when the announcers said we were in a 13 formation for a play.

I wonder if Alpine still thinks our OL is great.

Again with your assumptions.

The media said it all during the UGA game and didn't let up until their schedule weakened. That wasn't auburn fans.

We were gonna maul people in 12 and 13 personnel. It’s the new old brand of football

Ahh yes. When his team is clearly outmatched that’s when he is Jeckyll and Hyde.

I guess CJ Stroud is Jekyll & Hyde too. Have y'all seen his Northwestern game stats? He will go in the top 5 of the draft.

Found the quote
quote:

“Last year, I was just kind of over it. Each week it was something else. There was, quite frankly, nothing I could do about it. I just remember kind of being miserable. It wasn’t fun anymore.”

He does not specifically say Harsin but it doesn’t say specifically it was terrible fans on message boards either. Probably just a bad combination of a lot of things.

He would never say it was the fans or the coach. That would be a bad career move. That quote sounds like he is talking about the roster making him miserable. JHead says him and Harsin went out on friendly terms.
