I wouldn't bet on that. If he lays an egg against mizzou, moo st., or ole miss. He'll be fired the day after.

One can only hope. I highly doubt it for some reason.

Auburn is an 8-5 team with Gus Malzahn, regardless of position.

2009: 8-5
2010: 14-0
2011: 8-5
2013: 12-2
2014: 8-5
2015: 7-6
2016: 8-5
2017: ?

65-28

To make it a little easier to stomach, this is our average record when Gus Malzahn is on staff:

9-4

But there is a major outlier from 2010 when we had the GOAT at QB and an offensive line built by Tuberville.

I also hate to do this, but since I'm angry, I'm going to also point out that 2013 was about five seconds (4 seconds for Louis to catch and run into the endzone and 1 second for Bama to provide the lawls for a lifetime) from being an 8-4 regular season, potential 8-5 or 9-4 final record.

There's no doubt about it. The guy is an average coach and if he didn't have such an awesome season in year one, he'd have been fired by now.

Discarding the best and worst from that list, he is 8.8 - 4.4 over his AU career.

What is our record vs these teams going back to Tubs last year?

quote:

LSU: 3-6
UGa: 2-7
Bama: 2-7

Throw in 1-4 vs Clemson and we are collectively 7-24 against the four most successful programs we've faced more than once since the beginning of 2008. Take away our NC season and we're 3-24 against them.

What's the common denominator here post Tubs? Both the coaches were hired because they are part of the good ole boy network and hired by that sorry arse AD Jay Jacobs.

I seriously doubt Malzahn will be fired considering what people say about our financial situation.

Ross hit the nail on the head here.

I don't like being right in these instances but this is why realism takes away the sting of disappointment somewhat.

Yup! Ross has always seen right through the Clown’s BS.

I’m glad the rest of the Cognitive Dissonance crew has also now seen the light.

Yes, but what hurts is that at the time you made that post, we all thought LSU was a legit contender and would be undefeated when we played them.

In reality, the team that beat us Saturday was within a couple of plays from being 2-4 instead of 4-2.
