1 of 2 things is going to happen. Gus us going to give someone with their own system complete control. The other option is he hires a yes man like Applin and nothing changes at all.

Any OC that respects their career isn't going to let Gus call plays or Blend his offense with theirs. It's one or the other

Top two are both named Briles.

Thanks for telling us, your hunch is usually right on here.

Would AU's compliance dept allow either Briles near the program?

Can't be going too far from the Gus coaching tree if he plans on keeping everyone else currently on Offensive staff. Otherwise he'd just be repeating Tubb's move with Franklin and the BBQ Crew.

OCs have no issues with this, most are looking for innovations and great ways to enhance their offense

What they have an issue with is the blend rate Gus will demand 99% Gus, 1% OC

Chip Lindsey? Is that really the best we can do?

Was Kodi Burns the best WR coach we could find?

Gus is a paranoid egomaniac which means that he's not likely going to go and get some hot-shot who runs a completely different offense and give him to green-light to do what he wants, because that undermines the entire reason he's even in college football (his offense).

The Vent is saying that Gus floated Chip and Eli Drinkwitz to JJ and he was told to find a bigger name

Why is Lindsey considered a bad hire?

Brandon Streeter, Clemson's QB Coach, is a really interesting name Marcello dropped

-Similar system to Gus [CHECK]
-Can't make demands of Gus [CHECK]
-Will likely allow Gus to blend O [CHECK]
-History that would appease fans [CHECK]
-Good recruiter [CHECK]

If somehow it is Briles, Tinfoil Hat moment, did Gus know Rhett was going one way or another and Briles was in? Also is this how we bagged Stidham?

Probably experience. He was at AU recently but only as an analyst, then had quality seasons running his own show at Southern Miss and Arizona St. Would be a good recruiter and QB coach.

We could possibly do better but could also do a whole lot worse.

If we hire Lindsey I'm sure he'll at least want to keep Kodi Burns considering he wanted him as RB coach at ASU

"Insider" guy on AUF just said he was told Jake Spavital or Kendal Briles. He stated before that Briles wouldn't be allowed by McGlynn.

No one leaves if Lindsey is hired, espeically with possible 10th assistnat where he can bring in his own guy

Seems... quite possible.
