Gus has a ton of options in his HS coaching tree, namely that birmingham area head coach that was a former QB for Gus.
But Gus doesn't ship Lashlee off to UCONN for someone in his tree. This has got to be a sign that he's giving up the offensive reigns

Nothing would surprise me.

Helfrich would be a terrible fit

Guy has spent like 4 days east of Texas in his life. I don't see it

To whom ever said Sonny Dykes LMAO. He would take one look at Gus's play book and hop on the next flight out of Auburn.

We having two accurate passers on roster. Our oc needs to have a passing game to go along with a power run that Gus does well

Helfrich is the correct answer here
No. No he is not. He was nothing more than Lashlee. I saw it with my own eyes. He would literally stand there sometimes during games, following Chip around like a lost puppy.
Seriously though, I live in Eugene. I want Helfrich NO WHERE around the program. We may as well still have Lashlee vs Helfrich.

The Oregon spread philosophically is a run first offense. They do have common ground and Heelfrich is smart enough to overcome differences
Going from Gus to Briles is a bigger transition than Gus to Oregon

You're probably right. Wishful thinking on my part to fuse his passing game with Gus' run game.
Actually the biggest plus for me about Chip Lindsey is he was OC under Rush Probst at Hoover one yeae. Probst ran an air raid he learned directly from Hal Mumme. Hopefully he would use that experience here.

Dollars to doughnuts Herb Hand will get the OC, he and Gus were Co-OC at Tulsa. Then we will hire a QB coach.

I don't think so.

Chip Lindsey? Is that really the best we can do?
