Carasone was a force out at second wasn't she? They didn't call her out for running out of the baseline. The third out was Rhodes at first like you said. She left the bag going back because she thought she was out and the coach touched her, probably called for grabbing her and telling her to get back on the bag.

Ground ball to the second baseman. Tried to tag the runner going from first to second but Carasone ran out of the baseline to avoid it. Therefore she's out because she ran out of the baseline
It's only a force out if she threw it to the bag

More than anything, it helped. She ran away from Georgia's 2nd baseman, which delayed her making the throw to 1st. It didn't allow Georgia to turn the double-play. If anything, blame Jane Rhoades for being a bonehead and assuming she was out. Kacey Cooper was also able to score the winning run through all of this.

I agree. She prevented them from turning two on a force play which was freaking clutch.

She's made a lot of them. She could have just (probably) dodged the tag in the baseline by stopping and allow Rhodes to get to first. The technicality run didn't go through her mind. She was just trying to dodge the tag and wasn't thinking about getting called out. Either way, shouldn't have mattered. Can't believe they didn't score the insurance in the 2nd with man on 3rd, no outs. Gave Georgia momentum to tie and go ahead.

She did throw it to the bag. The ball reached the bag before Carosone got there. But you may be right, they may have called her out before the throw to the bag.
