45-17 LSU

LSU is just to complete on offense. If we somehow managed to get good LB play and stop the run, Mett will still have all day to throw with our lack of pass rush and burn us downfield.

While I'm encouraged by what I've seen out of NM so far, our offense still isn't clicking three weeks in. And I have no reason to be believe that will change against one of the best teams in the country in one of the hardest places to play in the country.

But no one on this board will be happier to be wrong on this than me.

Ok I understand being cautious and humble and all, but c'mon you guys. Why has LSU impressed any of you? They have played absolutely nobody, NOBODY worth a shite. UAB was driving on them a few times, TCU had them scared for a good while (and we see how good they are...) and frick, Kent St coulda made it a game in the 3rd with one score.

Sure, Odell has been a big playmaker, but against who? As many "badass" running backs as they have, I haven't been too impressed there. And for GOD'S SAKE stop giving Metternberenstein credit. This is the same guy, I don't care how different they look.

We're definitely not where we can be yet, but we've improved in at least one area every week. I'm not counting us out of this one at all, although I'll admit it will be very, VERY tough. If we play as well as we are capable RIGHT NOW, I believe that is enough to win this ball game. If we don't well, we'll see.

P.S. we were the worst team in the history of our university last year and we win that game if Quan fields a fair catch. WAR frickING DAMN EAGLE!!!

The realistic part of me says:

31-17 LSU. They're two TDs (or more) better than us in BR. I think we hang in there for three quarters, but they wear use down with the running game late.

37-24 with an AU TD in garbage time. LSU is a legit top5 team. At least we have a bye week after

So you're saying I'm gonna have to drown in my salty tears for 2 weeks instead of the normal 1? Damn it forgot about the bye week.

I am just hoping that regardless of what happens, that Ole Miss game will be a night game or at the very least a late afternoon game

I am just stoked that we are not going to play an 11 game for the very near future unless something janky happens

How they put freshman/replace players on that D every year and still kick arse is amazing.

You shouldn't. Back in august, any auburn fan who wouldn't take 3-1 going into the bye week is an idiot. That won't change fans from melting down this time next week though.

38-20 LSU

I think we play decent but not enough on defense to stop all their weapons. We stack the box and Mett throw all over us. We drop back and then those RB pound us up the middle.

I think that's fair to question the quality of LSU's opponents thus far, but in the past LSU had a real tendency to play down to their level of competition. They'd let sunbelt and WAC teams just hang around until the fourth quarter in tiger stadium. So the fact that they've been putting them away handily and doing through mettenberger's arm tells me they've turned a corner.

If I'm looking for hope as an AU fan, then maybe their defense really has been affected by all the guys they lost to the draft and it just hasn't shown itself given the lack of competition they played.

It is near impossible to argue that Chavis is a top DCoordinator if not the best DCoordinator in college football. It takes skill to do what he does on a yearly basis recruiting talent (especially diamonds in the rough) and turning them into top tier units after losing talent to the league

I like Cam Cameron but I do not believe that LSU has played a quality "talented" unit yet. I Believe AU will give up points and will give up more than last year, but I do not think that LSU will put up 30+

For their defense, while they clearly have trained up their young talent, the biggest thing that the HUNH does is force your players to make reads and alignments on a moment's notice. I have a hard time believing that their young secondary will be able to keep up with an offense consistently throughout the game if we play like we did in that final drive.

When run correctly and good throws are made, it is near impossible to defend a HUNH if you have talent on the O.

I have no clue, but we are going to find out exactly where we are as a team in 6 days.

I'm ready to find out and see what happens.

I think our defense is better suited to stopping LSUs traditional style than the 3 spread teams we've faced so far.

They will be the most talented offense we've faced to date.

And we really need Chris Davis back.

We haven't faced a true read option spread yet. Big difference between an Ole Miss team and Wash St for instance.

I was going to post earlier that with Jake Holland on the field Dak Prescott averaged some 6 ypc or so (had the numbers but accidentally deleted them) then in the 4th quarter we gave up 2 ypc

With the proper personnel, our defense will shut down a spread due to the speed that we have on the perimeter and our MLB/WLB will be able to play the middle
