If Gus wants Jacobs fired, he can make that happen with relative ease.

Have we even authorized planning and design of a new facility? Are we visiting other sites, etc...

We need to have the best dang facility in the nation and with the SEC network money that will come next year, we will be able to afford it..

More about the timing than anything.

The issue does not rest solely with JJ/Gus. The issues on the surface are exactly as E has said. There are some, however, who were not nearly as thrilled about the changes (new assignments) made prior to last season in the AD. And it is not beneath them to cause all the turmoil they can.

ETA: I am having to be vague, and I apologize. I am trying to get an update. Was told this a couple weeks ago.

Can we at least wait until after football season before we implode ourselves on this board?

I'm not imploding. Gus is very happy at Auburn, and I believe this will all work itself out. I'm just saying there are a lot of politics involved. The very fact this is being discussed isn't an accident.

Success often breeds it's own set of problems. Like people calling for JJ over Nick. Some of our family doesn't succeed well.

Just like in every football program and large corporation in the country. You always have shitheads, and Gus will have the same issues no matter where he goes. The people who are surprised by this kind of stuff have never worked with a large company.

Blame GC. He wanted to know what RR said on Rivals. All I did was reply and clarify.

I don't think anyone is imploding, just a topic of interest to discuss. Ultimately nothing anyone on here can do to change it even if it was 100% true. I found it interesting because it matched up with something I was told a few weeks ago and just thought it was more rumor stuff at the time.

At the end of the day there will always be issues like this that go on at every university. We just hear about them more due to social media. Some of them turn out to be overblown or nothing at all.

Amen. The messenger, don't shoot him.

As AUCE05 said above, these things happen.

Jay is a victim of the good ol boy club. But on a somewhat unrelated note. The AD just brought in a COO at >$100,000 and he said we were spending to much money and he cut the drinks and plants. We have more $100,000 jobs with people who are filling space and not really contributing more than they are making in salary. We have an over managed AD.

100K is nothing for a COO. Its not much for a mid level sales manager these days.

Why is Tim Jackson even still at Auburn? I had hoped he would go the way of the dodo bird when Chizik left.

BINGO! It isn't because of his superior administrative skills.

So why is he still here? Therein lies the answer to this particular riddle.

As with anything, it's not what you know - but who.

No. Tim Jackson is now the head of Tigers Unlimited which means he basically does nothing since Coach whitt and his people already know what they're doing there.

The COO is David Benedict. Some insiders say that despite a good resume, that he's another JABA hire because he was buddy buddy with Jay alread.

I've wanted Jay gone for a long time. He is just another in the long line of good 'ol boy network that has plagued our athletic department for years.
