Ok Randy or AUT24.

Offensive line is not my forte I'll leave that to Randy.

Loved our Oline class this season wish we could have landed 2 more OTs because I think Sharp would make a great guard. Pat Miller leaving was a big wtf. He got shat on a lot but we played a lot better with him in the lineup rather than Danzey.

The post wasn't about the position. It was about your propensity to go nega ape shite at times when results don't meet your wants sometimes.

I could be wrong but when Danzey played for the while he did wasn't AY moved from LG to RG, P-Mill stayed at RT, and Slade was benched?

Miller went down in the 4th game of the year against La Tech with an ankle injury and didn't return to the starting lineup until Alabama, which, IMO, the line played the best it had all year.

I'm not sure how much Miller played in that time frame, but the starting lineup then went to SC-DD-RD-CS-AY, with Slade & Danzey flipping guard spots during that time.

Yea I really really hate we missed on both of them. Ivey there was obviously nothing we could do but I'm still not sure how we let Chidi get away to LSU. That's still a big head scratcher and one that could hurt us in a couple of years.

Remember the guy that recruited Shon Coleman, Christian Westerman, Greg Robinson, Reese Dismukes, Alex Kozan, Jordan Diamond, and Avery Young (and others) for us?

That guy?

Well, he's recruiting OL for LSU now.

And yet Chad Slade had more starts than most of those guys combined. Which is why he is at LSU underdeveloping their recruits now.

Chidi was a huge grade risk. There is a reason why he didn't have LSU as top two , didn't follow his Nigerian friend and suddenly was not accepted by Bama and Auburn.

Our OL recruiting has been solid as long as we pick up an OT next class.

Jeff has been living off 2010 and recruiting for five years now ... he's had underperforming OLs ever since.

Anyone with a lick of sense would have recognized we were talking about RECRUITING in the RECRUITING thread in that exchange and not "coaching them up".

But thanks for your input.

Ummm those 4 of those 5 guys were the best players on the line that had the best rushing attack in SEC history and all multi year starters and the 5th is now our starting LT and probably will be again for at least one, if not two, more years.

JB Grimes was coaching that line in 2013, not Jeff Grimes.

I understand that but his post seemed to indicate that most everyone on that list was a bust and that Chad Slade had been outperforming all of them.

They beat us and Bama cuz both Gus and Nick used their in homes in December when we thought he was going to be an EE. LSU got in there the last 2 weeks then Miles knocked his in home on a Wednesday out of the park so much so that Chidi called Miles personally as soon as he woke up Thursday and committed. Bama may have backed off due to academic concerns but there are no indications AU did.

If he was not accepted by AU there has been no word from AU reporters or insiders to this point so I don't think that statement is true. One of them would have said so by now.

FWIW Per LSU reporters, Miles got Chidi done much more so than Jeff Grimes.

We offered 4* Tenn QB commit Austin Kendall. I remember this kid wanted an Auburn offer pretty badly before he ultimately committed to Tenn. I think the recent OC change for them may have opened some things up regarding his recruitment.
