Does Camargo really need to play every day? Certainly not at the expense of Swanson imo.

I like him but he is already coming back down to earth. A guy who doesn't have a track record, doesn't walk and can only hit from one side of the plate should not be taking ABs away from one of the 5-6 most important players in the org in some misguided attempt to compete.

I understand showcasing Phillips and Adams but neither of them should be getting ABs over Camargo, Swanson, Ruiz, Johnson, Santana, Rodriguez, Albies or anyone else who will be here next year after Monday.

The best thing for this team would be falling totally out of contention so the rebuild can be continued at the proper pace.

Leave Swanson in Gwinnett the rest of the year unless he is absolutely destroying the IL and wait until April 20 to call up Acuna and Albies next year and you have 6 more years of Swanson and 7 of Albies and Acuna.

Generally I'd say no, but I do understand wanting to get a little more feel for him in a lost year to see what you have. The best situation is getting rid of Phillips and doing both.

Totally agree with you on the rest.

Speaking of Camargo, obviously he has been impressive and has made the most of his call up to the bigs. From what I understand, he has gained some good weight and has really improved his approach at the plate -- defensively he's always been really good.

Does anyone think he can sustain? I like the idea of having him around and I think he's a better short term option than a Rio Ruiz type at 3B....but...there's also a logjam of sorts of utility infield guys that are either vets like Sean Rodriguez, or young talents like Albies, Camargo, Swanson, Ruiz, etc.

Not a bad problem to have I suppose.

I think Comargo's ceiling is Martin Prado and his floor is super utility guy. Either one is a very pleasant surprise.

My hope is in 2018 we have a lineup of Comargo, Swanson, Albies with Rodriguez being the super utility.

He has like a 3% walk rate and a BABIP against LHP of .514, 5-freakin-14. I'm enjoying watching him but we need to temper expectations, what he's doing more than likely isn't much more than a nice hot streak. Kind of reminds me of the Constanza/Heyward situation.

I'd be good with that for sure. Not a lot of power at the plate but very solid. Hopefully Acuna could absolve some of that.
