He's in yet another slump

something like 5 hits for his last 40 at bats. But, everyone swears he is the superstar of the future just give him time. Hope there is a backup plan

He should, but he needs some work in AAA

Higher BB% and lower K% than last year and lower soft contact %.
A few less line drives and not as many hard hit balls, but for the most part he is just not getting as lucky as last year. BABIP is over 100 points lower than last year.
He is essentially the same hitter as we saw the last month and a half of 2016.
The defense has been a little disappointing though I will say, as that was supposed to be his calling card.
I think if this team was a contender you send him down while Camargo is hot, but I would like to see the kids work it out at the big league level in the second half. Let's see Dansby at SS, Ozzie at 2B and Camargo at 3B for a full couple months and see some more of Rio and D Pete as well later.
No need to keep running Adams, Phillips, Kemp and Markakis out there.

He slashed .306/.355/.418 in June, so a rough 10 day stretch isn't going to freak me out.
As VF30 noted above, his contact numbers have been pretty good the entire year (including his rough stretch).
Stats amongst MLB Shortstops
- 6th best Line Drive % (21.8%)
- 7th best Med/Hard Contact % (82.2%)
- 18th in Soft Contact % (17.8%) (that's good)
- 9th in BB/K ratio (0.43)
- 19th best BABIP (.274), meaning overall he's been pretty unlucky, especially combined with his contact rates above
So, he's hitting the ball hard, which is at the base level what you want. It will all even out.
As VF said, I'm much more concerned about his defensive lapses than I am his offense. I think he's right on track to be a .270-.280/12 HR/70 RBI guy.

I would agree if he wasn't so off balance at the plate. Struggling with outside sliders so badly clearly got in his head, now he's looking for everything away and whiffing when they throw him inside. Not a good thing when you're a more cerebral than supremely athletic player.

He's looked off balance the last week, but I thought the previous 2 months he looked pretty locked in. Everything was hit hard, he was hitting to all fields, he was flipping tough 2 strike pitches away.
He jumped 2-3 inside fastballs in Oakland and ripped them into the pull corner for doubles.

Yeah I'm not too worried at the moment after his June numbers.

He used to run around Oregon Park with his brother's cup over his face pretending to be Darth Vader. Just sayin'.

Doubling down on my answer of no. Horrible at bats have resumed.

Dansby can hit .150 this year with 30 errors and fans will yell he is just a rookie give him a chance.

I mean, should we be in favor of cutting him? He is a rookie.
If they aren't going to play him all the time he needs to go to AAA so he can get regular at-bats. This whole play him every 3 days thing isn't smart at all.

We arent going to the playoffs so i would let him get as many abs as possible. Let him work it out and if he doesnt then have another plan at shortstop.
I just dont get how so many fans proclaim him the allstar shortstop for years to come wearher he starts hitting or not. .218 batting avg on the year. something like 7 for his last 50abs and he cant hit a slider. Should we not be concerned?
