But this is so damn frustrating…I’m starting to lean the way of Pittman has his own good ole boy Network of selecting coaches and players who get PT.

- Enos was arse last night. Head scratching calls all night long. Slow developing plays with a bad OL…Not playing the right personnel…In what galaxy is AJ Green not your feature back right now? In what galaxy do you line KJ up in shotgun on TWO fourth and inches plays? In what galaxy does Dominic Johnson’s stiff, soft arse ever need to see the field? Why is Sategna only on the field for kick and punt returns? All of those questions make me also question the selection of personnel on the OL. It damn sure makes me question the punter selection. Oh my damn goodness. Seriously? Terrible.

- Coach Pittman needs to walk away. Don’t make this ugly. You were a stop gap coach, got us out of the gutter but your time is done. The West is up for grabs and you continually blow leads and likely instruct your play callers to get conservative. It’s a trend now. 4 years of it. There’s the plank. Get to walking.

- Here is my piss and moan about the new clock rules…It’s bullshite…Each quarter took an hour last night. Each commercial break is over 3 minutes…the longest used to be 2:30…now the shortest is 3:10 according to the clock on the field…The new clock rules are damn racket and I don’t want to be in the stadium for FOUR DAMN HOURS.

RANT OFF

It’s like the time we lost to Vanderbilt and Darren McFadden got one(1) touch.

As for your original post:

I was a little more patient with Sam until last night. Our OL committed 6 penalties on the final drive alone. That’s unacceptable. I get people are hurt but holy shite, It’s year 4. We shouldn’t be this undisciplined. As for your point about the SEC being wide open, I think that’s why I’m most frustrated. We could win the west this season but we’re going to piss it away. We didn’t score a single point after lining up in shotgun and handing it off on 4th and 1. All they have to do is watch 1 Philadelphia Eagles game and they have the blueprint on how to handle short yardage situations. KJ is the biggest person on the field. Use that to your advantage.

Lastly, the new rules suck. I was a fan when they announced them because of how much they mimic nfl rules and how good nfl games flow because of it. But when you add commercial breaks it makes the games so much worse, especially in the stadium. They need to take out some of the ad breaks like the NFL did but they’ll never do that because money machine go brrrrrrr

The shitty OL play and play calls were glaringly horrendous.

To your point of Sam walking away, not happening. He's locked in with Sexton and he'll force HY's hand.

I think Sam will do the right thing and retire after the season is over.

Double overtime games against MWC teams at home sound exciting.

Why did we HAVE to have a stop gap? Two hires in a row that were small-time and embarrassing, coming with a far larger risk than we could afford. There was no reason on paper to hire either Chad Morris or Sam Pittman. Bielema didn't work out for various reasons, but on paper, we went out and got ourselves a high-performing coach who was firing on all cylinders at a lateral job. We kept him a year longer than we should have, which was frustrating, but we couldn't afford to frick up the next two hires like we did.

We didn't need a "stop gap," we had Lane Kiffin ready to come here, and we fricked him around, so he went to Ole Miss. Kiffin may or may not have worked out, or stayed if he was working out, but it was a hire that at least said "we care about football and win or lose, we're not mailing it in."

Here is the position I've maintained since Pittman was hired: let him stay. It's what the Arkansas fan base deserves. For every time our rubes have filled the stadium for this guy or Chad Morris, it proved it's what we deserve. He'll likely get us to regular bowl games. He's not notably bad and he really does love this place. That's good enough, let him retire here. We have basketball and baseball, and our basketball hire said "we're a known brand in this sport and we're tired of losing." So far it's worked out. For 2/3 of the year, we have sports we're in the mix for and at least not laughingstocks.

I forgot when football season even started this year until someone at work told me. Yesterday was the first time I tried to keep up with a game. I stopped watching after 14–14 because I'm tired of a song I don't even like being on repeat.

This has always been my most frustrating thing about our fans around Kiffin. So many didn’t want him because they think he would take the next big thing once we had success but yet they turned around and lauded the Pittman hire because he was a great stop gap coach to right the ship for the next coach. Umm wouldn’t Kiffin have done the exact same thing in your doomsday scenario? Better yet, he probably would have done it at a higher level.

The bigger kick to the nuts is that he’s shown absolutely zero interest in leaving Oxford and will probably win the West this year for the first time ever.

I'd go after Brian Hartline. People will say but he will leave for Ohio State. Who gives a shite. This guy is an ELITE recruiter and a superstar in the making.

Team is soft, so are coaches
If you get a flag called on you, you sit for a quarter
Hold walkon tryouts for punter ASAP
No more shotgun on 4th and 1
BYU is not anything special
Giant commercial breaks really kill the crowd the few time we had some energy
We may be worse this year? How does that happen and people keep their million-dollar jobs
Looking at the schedule, I dont see 4 more wins right now

Agree 100%, Hawgeye.

I’m lazy so I’ll repost my rant from last night, but it aligns with your points:

quote:

I’m done with Sam, too.

Too many times where we’ve overlooked or disrespected opponents leading to slow starts and/or losses.

Too much “aww shucks” and “2-0 is still damn 2-0” instead of getting into asses and demanding excellence.

Nutt levels of inconsistency and playing up or down to opponents.

Lazy coordinator hires and unwilling to hold staff accountable.

Horrendous play calling.

Year 4 and his area of specialty is our worst position group.

Continually hemorrhaging players to the portal, which should be a huge red flag.

I appreciate him pulling us out of the shitter and making us respectable again, but it’s time for him to go to the lake and for us to bring in someone else.

bullshite.

The fans had nothing to do with not getting Kiffin. That’s 100% the fault of Yurachek pissing away a 3 month coaching search, trying to hire on the cheap, and thinking it’s still 1982 and handshake agreements are still a ‘thing.’

The fact that we shite the bed with Kiffin/Sexton is 100% Yurachek’s fault and he needs to be held accountable for it.

Huh?

He played footsie all season with Auburn last year, and was headed there before their dumbass boosters did what they always do.

He’s constantly calling out their fans and boosters for not being more committed to the collective. He’s raised his skirt every off-season to other suiters.

The justification from our fans. Not the action. You still see our fans saying they wouldn’t have wanted Kiffin because he would have bounced after success.

We're talking about a school that hired good ole boy Nutt from Boise St., Bobby Petrino, John L Smile, Bert Bielema, Chad Morris and now Sam Pittman.

What if anything makes anyone think we GAF about the football program.

Serious question

It's not "on the fans," we just have a collective allergy to calling a spade a spade. What IS on the fans is that, come time for FIU and we're sitting at 2–8/3–7 with two games left to play, the stadium is going to be probably 3/4 full of people who want to go see a chance for the Hogs to win.

It's painfully simple. Just stop going to games. I know it's hard to resist spending hundreds of dollars to go sit in likely uncomfortable weather for upwards of four hours to watch a loss and then sit in standstill traffic for over an hour, but if everyone just resisted for one season, the problem would go away. We keep telling the athletic department that we're fine with this, so they let it go.
