Gundy would be a great hire....

Patterson would be the home fricking run hire.

For me, anyway

Wasn't hype. They talked till the wee hours of the night last night. BSU asked Petersen to wait until this morning for them to counter-offer. We damn near had him.

I have read this, but I still have not seen what credible source it is coming from. I'm not saying it didn't happen...just saying I have yet to see proof.

The fact that he's holding a presser about it isn't proof?

He holds a press conference every week at this same time.

Petersen was not in play like some folks have led y'all to think.

No....

proof that we did in fact offer him.

I'm sorry, I don't keep up with this as I have a full time job...

Is this presser not a regular presser that he does? Is it one that is unscheduled?

Either way, I honestly dgaf

He's not our coach, I never thought he would be, and therefore have no feelings of let down. Anyone with a brain cell knew he was a long shot no matter what $$$ was thrown at him.

K. That's what I thought.

The only "proof" of Peterson being offered and "this close to being ours" has been nothing more than internet rumors started.

Anyone see the presser or has it not happened yet? I'm curious what he says.

Nothing breaking, RG3 about to be on SC with Jon Gruden, guess Grude will replace Bryles at Baylor.

He will not say anything

He will talk about their bowl game, season , and probably just ignore any questions regarding other jobs. That's what he does.

Any news on Gundy?

I saw rumors that he was meeting with JL this morning in Tulsa, no idea if true or not.

I had heard that.

Long made it clear a while back, there will be a face to face meeting.

My guy in LR has been quiet about Petersen since Fri/Sat and the last thing he said was JL was very concerned Petersen will not be able to pull the trigger.

Do your contacts say whether JL went after Petersen or not? If not, maybe that was a great misdirection.

I'm ok with Petersen being the smokescreen if it means us landing Patterson. I really don't want Gundy. Giving up 38 points a game doesn't bode well in the SEC.

Right, because Les Miles and Nick Saban had stifling defenses and mind blowing offense before they got in the SEC
