Forecast soundings sure do support tornadoes late tonight in central/eastern OK, NW AR! Storms likely not initiating until well after dark.

Reed is a doucher now. I sometimes wonder if he looks at data in depth anymore. Where are those supercells he was screaming about in NEA/NW TN? Oh that's right they are stuck under this massive cap that's been in place all day.

Sounds like a tornado out in OK is headed towards Fort Smith.

Any update on that tornado situation in Fort Smith? Did the tornado in OK end up reaching the city?

Tornadoes should stay out in Oklahoma unless a supercell develops on the warm front near the OK/AR border

Well that was eerily accurate. Luckily, sounds like the Tornado stayed in rural area. Huge hail dropped though.

Fort Smith got VERY lucky tonight. I am home attending a family funeral and tonight I went riding with a deputy sheriff friend of mine in Le Flore county. Several of the smaller communities' tornado sirens were not working and we had to drive through them with lights and sirens on ahead of the tornado to alert them. At one point the tornado was a wedge about 1/2 mile wide. Fort Smith was spared when it made a right hand turn and crossed the state line near the town of Bonanza. That was the closest I've seen or heard of Fort Smith taking a direct hit since the 1996 tornado.

Imgur won't let me upload the video I took of us running code through the towns but here is the radar image I screenshot from my phone.

In the first photo, the actual tornado and debris signature is shown in the pink circle about 2 miles NNW of Cameron, OK

In the second photo, the actual debris flying through the air and being picked up on radar is shown as a blue donut hole looking signature in the same location.

Yeah it ramped up fast. Debris was thrown about 6,000 feet, so it'll end up being a F1, mayyybe F2 after the survey is done.

I walked outside and could tell the warm front had lifted further north. Freakin 76 degrees in Benton County.

Shop got flooded at the house Happens every time we get a rain event similar to this.
