Yea we've got some decent horses this year.

UM was 13th in the Big 14 coming into this game shooting from outside.

We give up another career night to the entire team. It's basically the same as a mobile QB in a spread offense in football.

Has Mike had a decent defense since he's been here?

Nope especially not guarding the perimeter. Trapping and doubling so far away from the basket is idiotic in today's game and only leads to fouls and FTs.

MA is all about playing fast to tire out the other team and firing up shots.

Problem is depth isn't a factor like it once was with all the stoppages for FT's and timeouts.

At what point can we question Mike's willingness to adapt to the changing rulebook and landscape in basketball?

This is literally a repeat of 15 years ago when Nolan wouldn't adapt to the changes in the game.

He's a one trick pony. He won't adapt or evolve.

This is why I didn't want mike as our coach.Great guy and I appreciate his effort, but Nolan ball died with rule changes a long time ago.

But Nolan finally got what he wanted, he's the only one who got a plus from this.

I'm still pulling for the team and hoping for the best, but I'm not expecting much.

Keep him around 2 years just for a class? You're not acting like your usual self there princess.

We can still squeak into the tournament with this team. When people looking to cut to the basket start looking to kick....at all, we'll get better. Someone needs to put a shock collar on Kinsley and hit him when he's having to much fun and we have to find ways to spot Dusty up. I don't believe Minnesota is a 3-point shooting team and they shot the lights out last night and we missed a loooot of 50/50 baskets.

Do these hogs even Spurs???

i stopped watching right after i posted last night. i just can't see that same shite, different players anymore. i've not completely given up on them since it's very early in the season but if they still look like that in a month or so, then there's no doubt that mike's got to go.

I mean I feel better that Ft Wayne knocked Indiana off.

Still doesn't excuse how ill-prepared and weak we looked. Granted we shot like total shite and they shot lights out but that has happened way too often for it to just be "one of those games"

I hope Mike proves us wrong but its getting to be too little, too late.

I'd feel better if we were getting good, consistent looks under the framework of the offense. But we don't because our offense is terrible.

But you'll always have bad games offensively. Every team does. What you CAN'T have is moronic half court defense that repeatedly exacerbates your offensive struggles by giving the opponent wide open looks with 1 or 2 simple passes.

I'd rather we play under screens and make college players beat us with their pull up jumpers than giving them open lanes to the basket or spot ups with that 1st or 2nd pass. Make them beat us with the most difficult shot in a half court offense.

Pretty sure they hit like 5 mid range bank shots from straight ahead last night. It was getting ridiculous.

But yes, the defense is super shitty. Hopefully they can address some of it with the new guys. It will take some time as we progress to better competition.

I'm over being a psycho ultra pissed Hog fan. We've been shite for two decades now. Just going to watch objectively and hope they surprise me.

Anything else is just a waste of breathe and not worth stressing over.

We aren't very good. Its that simple.

Several fairly average guards, a decent big guy who doesn't score much and a bench that probably can't make the team at any top 20 program.

That's what we've been for 20 years, rendering BWA about 3 times the capacity it needs to be.

I hate the philosophy that we don't care what the opponent does we only care about what we do. They don't adjust for opponents strengths and weaknesses. A team with great ball handling and passing will always give us problems. Also, trapping regardless of who the players are is so fricking retarded. You will see our players leave a guy that shoots 50% from three to trap a guy that averages 2ppg. They also don't look to box out when the shot goes up and that is 100% coaching and it fricking kills us every year. I want to believe in Mike, but I can't stand to watch low IQ basketball.

I hate it when I'm right. Though I did slur the good name of dog mess in comparing them to our road play. Dog mess at least fertilizes the ground.

We turned it over too much, missed too many jump shots.
They had way too many layups. Can't let a team have that many barely contested (if at all) layups.
