I am fine with never playing another game in WMS!....and, if they decide to play there again, I am also fine with that...
But, what I am not fine with is the attitude that those of us from other areas do not matter, or not so much.
I have flown in, driven in two days early, and been a foundation member for years. As have several of my friends.
And, yes... I have the belief that there are a lot of folks from elsewhere who are fans of other programs in NW Ark because of Walmart, JB Hunt, etal.
But, man... Lets just be one behind our hogs, this debate is so old...

I don't say that most of the fans at Razorback stadium are from NWA and FSM to hurt your feelings. I'm just saying it because it is true. You're deciding to take offense to a statistical reality. Newsflash...if you live within 50 miles of the stadium, all things being equal, you will likely attend more games than a person who lives 170 miles from the stadium. And present day, there is no large population imbalance of Central Arkansas vs NW/Western Arkansas like there was 20 years ago.
As for the loyalty of these blessed Oklahoma-adjacent counties....I present this. No other border area of the state is more solidly Razorback than the western and northwestern. Hell, even McDonald County, Mo (part of the NWA Metro area) shows as mostly Arkansas fans...

my feelings aren't hurt, but thanks for caring...
The UofA wouldn't be the UofA with just NW Arkansas pop in general. JMHO of course..
And again, it takes all of us to be the best fans on earth.

Good ole Mac County! God I hated playing there in High School, such a shithole and so terrible at sports.

Then all of you need to understand you're going to have to carpool from south, east, and central arkansas up to Fayetteville every Saturday now in order to see a home game.

I also know transplants from other places who've been here 10 years, have kids, and they go to Razorbacks games. They are butts in seats wearing red, so they count.
Ditto. I have friends in my neighborhood from California, Nebraska and Oklahoma. All have become Hog fans within the last five years (no small miracle given how terrible we've been in parts of that stretch) and go to games. The California couple is talking about season tickets next year. The Nebraska couple owns more Hog gear than my wife and I do. The Oklahoma couple have been to a few games, and their kids' first college football game experience was an Arkansas Razorback game.
All three are invaluable additions to our fan base in terms of allegiance and new financial support. If you support my program, I don't care where you're from, if you can't find Arkansas on a map, or can't pronounce L'Anguille or Desha.
Also, I was born and raised in East Arkansas near the banks of the Mississippi and my family still lives there, and anyone who thinks it's not solidly Razorback doesn't know what the frick they're talking about.

I don't think anyone is saying that.
What I will say, as someone who grew up in the Delta and didn't attend a Hog football game until my senior year of high school, is that the argument that proximity to a program is necessary in order for someone to be a fan of that program is profoundly absurd nowadays.

nice pics
except for the semi-transparent ghost in that one
I don't like no spirits. His posture even looks malevolent.

Next up
1) gut bud Walton like the vols did to their arena and reduce capacity but build more suites
2) knock down barnhill and build a replacement
3) have the Waltons make a huge donation to pay for it they are worth a combined 150 billion or so this could happen fast

good post, reminds me of all the backlash when people felt the U of A recruited DFW too hard. well, as someone that was at Amon Carter Saturday it was stunning how many fans we had there and I'd venture to say a majority were DFW based students and alumni.

I actually really like how it's offset and asymetrical. Makes it unique and leaves the opening for all to see inside.
A canopy would take away from that and looking into DWRRS from the hill is one of the best sites in all of college footbaw.
