The final hurdle to the NEZ expansion passed today.

We'll finally have a big boy stadium and goodbye to the eyesore that is the Broyles Center.

Dang... There goes my Club Seats...

After years of paying out the wazoo for the Outdoor Club, I will lose the sideline seating for the offer of Club Endzone seats..

Sucks for me... but aww well.

I still have a hard time with the concept of adding seats when you can't fill up the ones you have, even if the new seats are 'high dollar' seats.

I understand this opinion, but we really need to get rid of the BAC. It looks 2nd rate on tv. I think it will help with recruiting also. Kids want to play in a full stadium. They don't want to score a touchdown in front of a building.

You're adding club seating and luxury boxes basically. There is a high want list for both of those.

They took down the overflow seating in the top of the SEZ a few years back, so capacity now is at a true 72,000 and not 76,000 now. You're basically getting rid of the eye sore that is the BAC, making a concourse that goes a full 360 around the stadium, closing in the stadium on the north end to keep most of the sound in. No telling what the athletic department will make on food services that want to be included in the concourse on that end as well. The seats that seem to go the fastest are the SEZ club. I had a friend who wanted those and donated what he needed for those seats, but there were none available in those sections by the time his appointment was.

While it may cost more money to build(which we have), it will also generate more revenue. I like the way they're doing it. Adding only club seats and luxury boxes and luge boxes. It is smart IMO.

YEAH ALL OF THAT.

This is the perfect addition for us. I was imagining it Saturday.

We never run out of demand for club and luxury seating in NWA. The expanded concourse, elevators and new entry points will make the gameday experience better for everyone. Hell just having a plaza of some type around the north side will improve gameday people-flow so much.

Right now there's no way to walk around the entire stadium, either inside or outside. You approach it from a couple of sides. That's crazy, and makes everything about gameday a bigger pain in the arse than it should be.

I really wish they would have included a south side elevated plaza and new south entryways.

I believe it's slated to be done for the 2018 season.

Yeah my friend is a student and we were going to see if we could both get student tickets since you can bring a guest, but when we saw the line we decided to just buy tickets so walking around to the other side of the stadium was annoying. Not to mention they have the ticket windows right next to gate 1 so you have to navigate through 100 people to get to it.

Thank the lord. I've said it over and over again that the NEZ is the biggest eye sore.

When this is complete I will feel like we finally dun made it in life.

It's going to flow with the rest of the stadium and look really sharp.

I read an article earlier that came across my timeline that says they want to start taking down the BAC this December after the season is over. That seems a little off to me based on a completion date of the 2018 season but maybe someone with a better background in construction would agree. I just can't believe it would take 20~ months to do that project.

This is definitely the way to go, and where we're headed. Adding more nosebleed seats in these stadiums is about restarted. More and more box seats will be needed as we head into the future.

All the updated pics for everyone that's lazy:

All in all it looks like a major improvement to me, I just wish they'd put a metal canopy or something over the big standing room only gap to provide shade/shelter from the elements and a more "closed in" look. Maybe a big curved red metallic canopy that has the big end opening to the field, but still provides site lines to the field from the outside like they're trying to preserve.

Something like the following, but painted red:
