Town had a hoganese quiz with the coaches recently and only made a 4/25. Physically I think he is our best backup option but it is what it is right now. Storey wasn't given a chance to do much...I see what everyone means about his funky throwing motion though Peavey didn't impress me at all. Every throw he made was either a last second lateral after a scramble or a 5 mph floater
What's crazy is that our QB recruiting has been good to great on paper, as Storey, Peavey and Town were all 4 stars, yet it seems like we're desperately searching for an option at backup.

That's part for the course at every college and in the NFL. That's why you need to be bringing QBS in almost every cycle.

I didn't watch the spring game so take this for what it's worth, but most of us probably have our expectations for QB set a little too high after watching arguably the greatest season of an Arkansas quarterback. It took BA nearly a whole season before he became "decent." Then another whole season before he became "good," and it wasn't until his third season he became "great."
We run a pro style offense that demands excellence from the QB in reading defenses and making every type of throw both from in and out of the pocket. Contrast that with the majority of college teams that have their QB run shotgun spread with simplistic, automatic reads on passing downs. QB's have much more work to do to become a good QB in our system, but as we saw last season, it pays off.

I have a hunch we'll be fine at QB. AA has been the guy for 15 practices, and most of that is fundamental and playbook work. He'll have all summer and fall to fine tune.

No QB is going to do well this year if we can't protect them in the pocket.
Sykes was blanketing our WRs yesterday. Maybe there was an advantage in knowing some of the routes that he wouldn't have against outside competition (?)
but if nothing else, he had a good day.

Why did attendance take such a big hit? Beautiful day.
Down 11,000 from last year. (41k 2015 to 30k 2016)

They didn't do any social media marketing at all to try and get a big crowd like they did the past few years

I am afraid we are in for a world of hurt this season.
Oline still very young/knowledgeable depth
New Qback
FG Kicking. Geesh, can this improve please.
RB, RWIII and Whaley hopefully will be full bore!
guess we will wait and see. I am ready for a 10+ win season in the next 2 - 3 years.

I'm at half time of the game right now.
It's hard to know where we're really at because it's 1s vs the world but I'd say either our depth is solid or we're gonna need to fight our asses off for bowl eligibility.
Hopefully the second half is better.

My thoughts by position.
Qbs- drop off from last year. Backups aren't ready for prime time at all.
Rb- rawleigh has the green jersey on but could he a star. I like Evans but he doesn't have that spark you like to see. Duwop looked ok.
Ol- they're young but talented in spots. Grizzly and veteran in others. They'll gel and be a good unit before the year ends.
Dl- looked better. I think by year end we will do the whole 3 player triangle thing again.
Lb- they were in position and looked as good or better than last year. No missed tackles.
Db- looked better. Back to making plays on the ball and being aggressive.

so far on all accounts the Paul Rhodes hire has been a complete Home Run.
would be nice to hang on to him for a bit.

Yeah the first FG competition was painful. At least they got better in the second half.
Not sure which I want between Hedlund or McFain really

I finally found some highlights.
AA throws a very nice ball - nice balance of velocity and catchability. RW3 looked fast. IF RW3' good to go, Whaley plays likes Collins did in Collins' freshman year, and Walker comes back to full strength, this is going to be a dynamic offense once again.

I think we will be ok as well. RWIII and Whaley will be q nice duo. I don't see a lot of productivity from the other RBs sans Walker

Mitchell and Evans are probably not going to replace Collins
Of course not. They'll be our 4th and 5th string RB's this season.
It was virtually impossible to tell anything about our run game because RW3 couldn't get hit, Walker was out and Whaley isn't on campus. That's not to mention what they might do with Hammonds.
I guarantee the offense would/will look a lot better when they have the actual game day RB's playing.
