Passing of an institution. Of course, I hadn't set foot in the place in probably 10 years... but still...

Jose's was disgusting, but their patio was a ton of fun.

Same here.

Lots of (foggy) college memories of that place. Haven't walked in there since I graduated in '07 but have thought about it every time I drive down Dickson.

It's unfortunate especially with its history.

With that said the food was awful.

JJ's will kick arse in that location.

Place was shite. Food was terrible. JJ's will be much better and will probably make the patio better than it was.

Obviously I'm in the minority but I liked the cheese and onion enchiladas and cheese dip there. Never really hung out on the patio--it was either Maxine's or some other place for me.

Went there a few times on visits back to the Hill post grad.

Agree with the sentiment that the food sucked but patio was awesome.

food wise, yes. but overall, i hate the jj's in conway, it's too freaking loud. yes, get off my lawn you little bastards but seriously i like to be able to hear the person next to me and i've been there when i couldn't even do that.

I like that as well which is why i think this will be better. They'll be able to have bands outside instead of inside which always sucks. I've never been to the one in conway but the other location in fayetteville suffers from this problem.

Well, if you want shitty food but a great patio, you've still got Powerhouse.

Losing Jose's stings, bad food, good memories.

Thankfully we still have Bottom's Up. Going there, and surviving without contracting some incurable STD, has been a rite of passage for decades. It will be a sad day when an enraged stripper burns that place to the ground.

Particularly for the city's drug dealers who will have to find a new home away from home.

lol, this makes me laugh b/c it's so dead on. I'm honestly surprised Jose's last as long as it did.

It will be interesting to see how JJ's on Dickson affects business at Farrels and Grub's. Not sure all three can survive that close together, but I guess we'll see

grubs will go bye bye most likely. The food there is the most mediocre food i've ever had. I say that as it's not bad, it's just not what i'd classify as good. Farrells is a little more upscale different kind of crowd I feel like or at least tries to be.

Had to go to Grubs on Monday, was pretty blah. A decade + ago it was my extended fam's go to on Friday evenings with a group of my uncle's students. Good memories but less than stellar as restaurants go.

I'm glad the new blood in NWA is making local restaurants step their games up.

oh and Doe's on Fri.
