I've heard the same. I've also heard from some people who would know that Bert has an assistant/GA whose job is basically to follow him to and at the bar and ensure he doesn't make a complete arse of himself.

So that means our supposed baller AD has now hired three football coaches, one of whom was a womanizer, one of whom had an enormous bankruptcy case against him, and one who is apparently a slovenly functioning alcoholic. #Uncommon indeed!

The bad thing is that if/when we finally pull the plug on Jabba the Bert, I now have no faith in Long to hire a replacement.

Yep. I feel the same about Long at this point in regards to his hiring capabilities

I've been an outspoken supporter of Long for a long time, and I stood by him during and after Harletgate, but I'm fricking done. He doesn't know shite about the SEC and hired a coach who didnt either, and he locked us into a colossal contract with said coach who's now 11-17, 2-14 and has won a total of 1 (!) road game in 2.5 years. Frick you, Long, for locking us into this stupid contract after 2 anomalous wins versus injury-riddled teams at home.

Our only hope is that Ferentz shits the bed this year and Iowa finally cuts bait and is willing to take Bert, but even then I'm afraid his stock will have fallen too much. He's made losing in the SEC an art form, and he's the epitome of the fact that the SEC is in a completely different stratosphere than the Big Ten.

My new second favorite team is now whoever is playing Iowa. Fly home, Bert!

And at year's end?

That's a new indoor food/academic/health/smoothie bar center right there.

I'm completely numb right now can't even melt as bad as I want to. Wait all fricking year for football season and this is the shite we get to watch? What the hell have we done to deserve this shite? So sick of having to feel soulless during my favorite time of the year with absolutely no hope for the future.
