There's some rough areas in Springdale.

The evil corporate overlords in NWA that report directly to the illuminati make NWA lose all battles against the good folk in the flatlands.

Little Rock is significantly more urban and IMO has a better food scene.
quote:The Greenway and the miles and miles of bike trails in NWA blow away LR. Also, an extra hour or two of driving makes for 2-4 hours round trip. More than just a bit extra.
It's really not that far from the Ouachita's and Hot Springs or even the Ozarks, so there's still a bunch of hiking and other outdoors activities. Just a bit extra driving.
quote:Not even close. Maybe if you are under 25, but for adults the high quality public schools, the art scene, outdoor activities, the lack of crime, and job market all are a much bigger drawing point than the Razorbacks.
The Hogs are the biggest drawing point to NWA.

However, the music scene here in NWA is pretty bad. Especially from a Hip-Hop and EDM standpoint.
quote:I pointed this out in a previous post, but the crime between the two areas is night and day.
There's always the crime in Little Rock so that's something to consider, but NWA has some bad parts as well.

I cannot tell if he was being serious with this

100% serious. I'm from Houston, one of the Hip-Hop meccas of the world. Do you know how many rappers come here outside of university sponsored events? Zero....... George's just doesn't book them. Occasionally there will be some lower level but quality Djs that get booked at George's, which is nice but literally 3-4 shows a semester for EDM max. There's 27,000 undergrads at the U of A do you think were all trying to listen to Frank Foster and Ozark String Band? Hell no, the music scene is terrible up here.

you can see all the scenic spots in Fayetteville in less than an afternoon. I drive a lot to go to other state parks because I've already seen everything in Fayetteville. So if you're really an outdoorsman there's a lot of driving either way.

You mean "most older white married people with children." honestly, there's a lot of older people who love hip-hop music, so really this is just your own opinion.

I mean not really. Little Rock is full of black gangs and Springdale is full of Hispanic gangs and to be honest Hispanic gangs are more dangerous, doing bigger more illegal shite, and more likely to kill you, so I wouldn't say it's that much of a difference in terms of danger. Just different demographics. Just take one look at the Washington county intake report. There's at least one Hispanic person from Springdale getting caught commiting a violent/theft/drug related felony every single day.

give me hip hop over the noise of edm any day. as a prolific poet once said 'It's over, nobody listens to techno'.

I didn't get into EDM until dubstep became popular but I actually really enjoy it now. Eminem is the greatest tho and he despised EDM and actually at the time was right. Back at the turn of the century when re released that song "techno" was dying off but around 2008-9 dubstep brought it back and it started calling itself "EDM" the genre definitely went through a 10 year period of significant loss in interest. Unfortunately it is now all over pop music and it's killing the genre again

4 times more likely to be a victim of murder
6 times more likely to be a victim of robbery
Almost 2 times more likely to be a victim of aggravated assault, property crime, burglary and larceny
3 times more likely to be a victim of vehicle theft
.... in the Little Rock MSA (this includes the white flight villas of Maumelle, Conway, and Benton) than the NWA MSA.
Stats can be found at https://ucr.fbi.gov/
Hey, but at least you got hip-hop and a little better restaurant choice in Little Rock!

I'm not white either :)
