I am so thankful my facebook page is devoted to Onion articles and acknowledging that people I haven't seen in decades are still alive.

I've lived in central Ark for 15 yrs and lived in Fayetteville for undergrad and grad school. There's really no debate here. Not even sure why it's a 'thing.' Other than family or a kick arse job who in their right mind would rather live in LR than Bentonville/Fayetteville? Answer is no one.

Cool, Thanks. It does say my age though.

There's really no rivalry except for that which may exist on this or other message boards. The GSB has contributed to banter on this and other message boards, but in terms of livability both places are fine.
I probably would not have wanted to live in NWA after my time at the You of A and I didn't, but it has far more to offer now than back then. Back then I thought it secluded, which it still is, although the travel to and from there is so much faster in the modern era. It's also more than just being about the University (back then I thought how could anyone live there and not be in college) so everyone really has an opportunity to fit in. Bentonville (which was a small place famous for an animal hospital back in my day) and Rogers have really brought a lot to the table in the modern era. Fayetteville has always been unique and cool and Springdale well is still Springdale, but collectively it's all a good package.
I like the Little Rock area as well and enjoy what it has to offer both in the city and a short distance outside of it. It's really more convenient as far as the particular things and recreational activities I like to do.
Both places have much to offer and when asked by someone seeking to move to Arkansas and live I recommend both places. There's a couple of other places I'd live based on my own personal likes but a person can't wrong living in either place and I enjoyed my time living in both places. Who knows, I may live in one or the other of them right now, just sayin'.
And my PSA for the day is that we need to have pioneer stop creating so many alters.

You and your family were poor, so appreciating the finer things of Central Arkansas never crossed your family's dinner table.
Facts, not Feelings.

And you ended up as a bank teller?
Also, you didn't mention why the company had to relocate

Arkansas is a fine place to be from, but get the hell out when you can. You can be a Hog fan from anywhere.

but how do the two "concert scenes" compare for the majority of posters who aren't into those genres?
Little Rock is still a lot better in terms of big name country, old school, folk, pop, rock, etc. NWA has the Walmart AMP and brings in a lot of good musicians but the scheduling is kind of sporadic with a summer focus and the acts are all kinda family friendly. Not many "edgy" artists get to come to NWA. Country gets more than enough top quality acts to come to NWA if that kind of music is your thing.

You're right. I didn't think about that.

There are a few places I'd "rather live" I guess.
I came back to NWA from one of those places.
Denver is cool, most of Colorado north of the Springs is cool, but it's just gotten too big city there.
It's so easy to live in Fayetteville/NWA. School districts and crime are literally almost not an issue at all. Nature is abundant and not overcrowded like much of Colorado.
I live in NWA on purpose and many other do, too.

spend a lot of time in LR and they can have it. I do like the surrounding cities - Benton, Bryant, Conway and etc.
I was born and grew up in Springdale, so I'm not much of an urbanite. The fishing does get better the farther south and eat you go.

Well it's okay I guess. I don't like it as well as the other places but I did a little law there and over time have gone to a few events there. I like AQ Chicken in spite of what some on here have said and I like the train station. I'm mainly just passing through Springdale though going somewhere else.

That sentence you quoted used the words Springdale and not Farmington so I don't think that's what he meant.
