And, yes, actually!
I may be undervaluing the house a bit...but, you get the point.

My wife is from Fort Smith and I hate it there.
When I first moved to Arkansas I lived in North Little Rock and I couldn't wait to leave Arkansas. After moving to Conway I love Arkansas. I would probably still rather live in Florida but we can't get everything we want. I've been to the Fayetteville and Bentonville area a few times and think it is really nice but I don't think it is miles ahead of Central Arkansas, although as a Bama fan the University of Arkansas being in Fayetteville has no impact on my opinion.

I was born and raised in LR but have lived in NWA for the last 11 years.
The only thing that LR has over NWA is better hunting and restaurants. There are better lakes within an hour or so of LR as well. Greers and Ouachita poop on Beaver.
I would need a pretty good bump in pay to move back.

They're both great in their own ways. People act like LR is Syria. I've been making trips to LR all my life and I'm 45 years old and I've never once been scared. Don't hang in the hood and more than likely you'll enjoy it.
I am all of two years older then you and.. well they are both great places to live. Hell, I'm just across the river from Memphis right now and I'd love to be in Little Rock or the NWA right now.
Little Rock has a lot more bad places then the NWA... but ten years down the road when the population shifts more to the Ozarkopolis?
Arkansas needs a strong NW Arkansas and a strong Little Rock. Hell it would not hurt if the Eastern part of the state across from Memphis blew up.
As Hog fans we can't afford to fart around. We have to be in this together.

Has to be on the southside, northside has nothing even close to 50k

Hey, you guys quit crapping on Fort Smith. This town is Heaven on Earth if you love used car dealers and pawn shops. Also if you like obese people and frowns then Fort Smith is the VIP package of cities.

Do you work in marketing because that made Fort Smith sound sexy as hell?

Fiana Hills! But the poorer, non-hill part.
I like living in LR and I'd be happy living in NWA. We're probably going to move outside the city a bit in a year or two - hubby's car collection has exceeded our two car garage limit and we need some acreage with a shop.

Probably. Can't even get him to throw out old, ratty t-shirts. I shudder to think what's going to happen when he has acreage.

That is really close to being correct.

There's really no debate here. Not even sure why it's a 'thing.' Other than family or a kick arse job who in their right mind would rather live in LR than Bentonville/Fayetteville? Answer is no one.
Eh not exactly man. Little Rock is significantly more urban and IMO has a better food scene. It's really not that far from the Ouachita's and Hot Springs or even the Ozarks, so there's still a bunch of hiking and other outdoors activities. Just a bit extra driving. The Hogs are the biggest drawing point to NWA. Little Rock has no professional or major collegiate teams, so that's a huge negative. However, the music scene here in NWA is pretty bad. Especially from a Hip-Hop and EDM standpoint. Little Rock gets a lot better shows and more of them. Tulsa is only a two hour drive away, so it kinda makes up for NWA lack of shows. There's always the crime in Little Rock so that's something to consider, but NWA has some bad parts as well. I think there's a lot of draw to both metro areas and you could easily choose one or the other depending on your preferences.

I know you mentioned hip hop and EDM specifically, but how do the two "concert scenes" compare for the majority of posters who aren't into those genres?
